So yesterday I bought a BR600 from the music store I work at. It was our last one that we had in stock. So I took it home all pysched to start recording some new demos for the producer I'm working with. Get it out of box and realize that they don't include an AC adapter with it. Not cool. No worries though it comes with 6 batteries. I put the batteries in and it doesn't turn on. WTF? Plug it into a 1 spot and stil doesn't come on. I am pissed off, cussing it out. I take it back to the store the next morning and we conclude that it came broken out of the box. Call up our BOSS rep and they say that they'll replace it however they are currently out of stock on the BR-600 and it maybe a while before they get more.

What the fuck.

I wouldn't even bother with getting a new one. I've been experimenting with a friend's 600 and while its fairly powerful, I find its good for recording but a nightmare for editing, mixing and mastering. There are too many confusing multi page menus and a tiny screen. I'm even struggling to take what I recorded and export to my computer for editing in Reaper. There are some good things about it, but overall its too big and complicated for a handheld recorder and too difficult to use for DAW - computer with an audio interface and Reaper is far superior and same learning curve.
