That is what makes the photoshopped image an epic fail. It is already funny and adds nothing to that.

I didn't take the photo or mess with it but it seems to me that the photoshopping was done to clean up the image to get the point across.
In the un-shopped pic I don't see any mic there on the actual speaker cab, it just looks like more of that funky mic mount and a bit more of the same cable going around in a loop.

there is definitely a mic there. There's a mic cable connected to it as well

I see what you are talking about there is a small flattish looking mic below.
Anyway like I said I guess it was photoshopped for effect, pretty funky mount there I suppose with a full stack it would be used to mic a speaker on both cabs.
