Definitely not OT: New Esteban guitar!

It's a limited edition one, a black classical with a bunch of gaudy roses all over it and a gold painted bridge... Only 8000 in the whole world! Of course it's got the standard unnecessary 10W amp, ten of his DVD's (a four year course!), and, presumably, the Esteban trademark shitty quality. $200. Tack on a crap stand and tuner for an extra $30 plus $7 S&H. Ha. But don't worry, it's "all wood" and "made the same way as a $3000 guitar". Those other guitar stores are making a 'big profit". Brilliant really, telling you that the real guitars are the ripoff. And the coup de grace that I know will really piss some of you guys off--there was a guy calling in who had ordered one that was on its way, claiming to be a disabled vet with hand problems due to a back injury. So either Esteban is hiring people to impersonate disabled veterans, or he has just shipped one of his hand-mutilating monstrosities to a real one without batting an eye. Charming.

It is made like other guitars hence the use of the word "guitar"... Strings, a hole, frets- you know... Just like 3000 dollar guitars. They dont skimp at all! They even throw in tuning pegs, a bridge and a neck! All made from real wood. By the way, toilet paper is made from real wood too...Semantics RULE!

I actually picked up one of the esteban acoustics in a pawn shop a couple years ago not knowing anything about the name, honestly couldn't read the signature really. But I played it and it played really well and sounded good, I had shopped around for awhile and chose that one. I didn't get the amp though or DVDs, just the case. But it was in good shape, the previous owner must have had some serious work done on it, because it is actually a pretty nice guitar at an intermediate level, much better than I hear about these guitars.

Hahaha the shop up the street from me got a used Esteban guitar in once. Instead of a price tag, there was just a big piece of paper sitting behind the strings that read "World class Esteban guitar! Can be used as a flotation device!".

I love the infomercials... whenever I hear his name I imagine him saying "Okay, now let's play some classic ROCK AND ROLL!". Good stuff.

I'm gettin' creeped out. Seems like a long time since an Estaban Limited Edition came out. Over two months now. Maybe it's an economic indicator. Or maybe it's like when L. Ron Hubbard died. Like his death would devalue any future offerings. I heard he got a gig playing for the Guru Maharaj Ji, and he plays at sunrise, sunset, and midnight. I heard he doesn't get paid, but he's given a Rolex watch after every performance. I guess it's hard to get to gigs on time with all the demands of travel and cult groupie sex. Too much to ask him to design world class guitars too. I heard he might have a deal with a famous guitar designer, first initial "Z" so he can keep up production and not disappoint his public. But that's all rumor and speculation.
