whithout hearing it 1st. The Bose Accoustic Wave. Not the Wave, the one you see on TV, the next step up. I'm looking for some opinions on it before it arrives. Anybody own/heard one? This guy I know had a job at this house and they had the Wave. He was able to listen to it for a few days. He said he'd buy one. Anyone else have any experience with these?

To be honest, I think its a little overpriced too. Don't expect it to fill a large room. I found it would be better as a kitchen/bedroom radio (any smaller room of the house). Don't get me wrong, the sound quality is impeccable but it is basically a clock/radio/CD player rather than a HiFi.
-I have only heard the wave BTW. let us know what you thing of the 'acoustic wave'

As has been said, bose is quite overpriced and performs well below many other options in even lower price ranges.
I work in a higher end custom home theater/stereo store for a living, feel free to PM me if you'd like to talk about better options.

The thing I hate about a lot of these type of units (cheap or not) are the preset EQs curves. I'd rather have independent EQ, at least a bass and treble control. Got my Mom a Bose Wave Radio/CD player a few Xmas ago. To my ears the bass enhancement is WAY overdone.
