I have a Boss delay unit that I need to plug in. It says near the power input "use Boss PSA adapter only, 9V DC 100ma." The only power plug adapter I have is a line 6 that says "Input:120V 60Hz .3...Output:9VAC 1200ma." So I guess that means its a 9v adapter. Can I plug my Boss unit with this without damaging it?

The Boss requirements you say is 9V, 100mA.

You have a PSU of 9V, 1200mA.

This is fine from a requirements point of view since 1200mA >> 100mA, you could power 12 units with it!
(The voltage MUST be same as the requirements, but the current (mA) can be the same or larger)

Only thing to take care with is the polarity of the connector.

CHECK WHICH IS + (positive) and WHICH IS - (negative).

John you missed one point in his question:

His Boss delay unit wants 9v DC POWER,
while the adapter gives 9v AC POWER

You DO NOT WANT to mix AC with DC, Turk.

A 9v DC power adapter should only cost you a few dollars from Radio Shack or any of the vendors on the web.

Get a Dan electro zero hum adaptor it will work as good or better than the boss. Dont use a cheapo radio shack or something like that. Boss units especially have no filtering inside the pedal to smooth the voltage out. It will make your unit hum like a bitch. You want a zero hum. Most boss adaptors are 200ma and I think the Danelectro are 300ma. Being over a couple of hundred miliamps wont be a problem at all so long as the voltage is correct. If the unit doesnt need the current it wont use it. You will have problems if the adaptor is under current or. It may heat up and blow the adaptor. Super high current arent good either like 1 amp and up.
