I have a Sony PCM-D1 and I have discovered that this unit has exceptionally sensitive mics. Sometimes it can actually be too good. It tends to emphasize very high frequency sounds. I have discovered that using a fur windscreen is helpful in many ways. It also helps attenuate the highs and produces a better recording. (It also helps with wind.) I can also recommend using it with a tripod to isolate your handling noise.

By the way... I just saw one of these recorders listed on eBay for a steal...

Item: 150254145748. Check it out! You can't go wrong with a PCM-D1.

Actually, for a lot of purposes, the Zoom H2 is a better recorder for quite a bit less money....

I like my Edirol R09.

Use one at work, bought one for my wife.

You can't go wrong with an Edirol R09 - unless you don't keep the little release slid over when you open the battery compartment, then the lid breaks off.

Anyway, it's item #8375-287AZ-9843 on hotrussianbabes.com

Check me out, my name is Natasha but I go by Druyaka on the website so no ones will know my real name.
