This features these guys:
Some Guy Named Rob
Doc Wilson
UV7lng
Lurid
Citizen Cain
Robochimp
This is the right order, I would appreciate it if the players/producers would provide the info on their parts.
For those unfamiliar, the idea behind this jam was to pass it around and allow each player to produce his own part, changing the framework at will. My thanks to all who played and produced, I think some will find this entertaining.
I apologize for the large (13mb) file, I know it will be a bitch to download.
For my part, I played first. Synthesizers (Steinberr A1 and Halion), and the tinky sounding heavily processed guitar theme.
Thanks for listening.

Thanks, gentlemen. I've had a chance to listen a few times now. Like most experiments I think it has some very strong points as well as some very weak points.

I think some more dynamic variety would be good... maybe an increase into i dunno... a heavy riff with a shreddy type solo or something. It remained at a constant volume most of the piece...

For my parts, I used some layers of synth swells and processed orchestra samples to accentuate the mood of what Nerve had already laid down. I also added a small, highly processed vocal sample that sounded like a cybornetic bullfrog. Doc plays a lot of sweet acoustic over my section.

Are you sure you listened to the whole thing? Lurid and Robochimp do quite a bit of shredding.

:D That was me! My bit includes the panned "flashes of sound". I wanted the piece to return to Nerve's original theme.
I recorded the "sound flashes" with an Epi Dot, Super Champ and a Dan-Echo. The Dan-Echo has a cool feature that when you turn the repeat knob while a delay is sounding, it sounds like you're slowing down the reel of a tape. I used that effect, but it's kind of hard to hear.
I recorded one track, then duplicated the track in n-Track and slightly offset it in time, then panned one track hard left and one hard right. This created the sound movement I wanted. I took both those tracks and duplicated them, then ran them in reverse. It filled in gaps pretty well and I was fairly happy with the result.
The telephone conversation came about because I always wanted to use the word "breasteses" in something ever since I heard it in the movie "True Romance"

I did the acoustic guitar and some percussion: congas, vibroslap and shaker.

A fine piece of work, fellas! You all did a great job of doing your own thing, but keeping the whole thing cohesive. It takes a lot of taste and restraint for six guys to pull this off. Great job!

Not me.
Was just wondering who it was. Was going to suggest they use a parametric EQ to cut some of the rumble out of their signal.

I really love this jam. This is the one I'm most proud of having participated in, even though I didn't do a 'proper' solo.
When I did my part, I was simultaniously in a great deal of pain, (as this was near the beginning of my back problems)
and PUMPED by the whole thing.
I didn't think, I just felt. And that's what got recorded.
I heard the drums first, so I made them in Fruityloops - snare here, kick there, etc. The rest is just Me, my Silhouette, and the Pod Pro. Actually, I think I was temporarily possessed by SGNR during this one. We've been jamming, and having a great time - hopefully some of that FREAKyness (TM) rubbed off on me.:D
Nerve, sorry about the clipping, and thanks for cleaning it up. I remember when I finished it, I was trying to send it to SGNRob to 'rescue' my stuff, because it was so distorted.
And I remember telling him, " Tell them this is what PAIN sounds like", heheh. I can be a dramatic S.O.B. sometimes.:D
I screwed up,though, and I ended up sending it to Nerve as it was. So thanks again, Nerve.
Everyone did an outstanding job on this. I'm really grateful that I was able to be a part of it

Wow, this was a real good one! Beautiful mood in the beginning. Sounds like Peter Gabriel or some
classy soundtrack! Nice. And here comes Carlos
from the mountain top. Is that SGNR? Cool.
Nightmarish end. The flanger to end all flangers? :D I like this one a lot. Kudos to everybody for
daring! Great sound too. I think 160 kbps
is the s**t.
I would have loved to do some ebow guitar or something on a piece like this, but it has to wait, my recording system ain't running proberly yet... :(
Thanks for the music guys!
