If you check out Craig Anderton's Preview MusikMesse video (http://messe.harmony-central.com/Musikmesse08/) (nice job, Craig!), you'll see he mentions the new "mind blowing" technology from Celemony (with a gigantic question mark on the screen further adding to the mystery). It appears Craig's use of the phrase "mind blowing" is not overstating the case.
Craig gives a quick glimpse of the product--including a portion of the video demo--in his Day 1 (http://messe.harmony-central.com/Musikmesse08/) report, but you can see the full version on Celemony's website (http://www.celemony.com/cms/index.php?id=dna), and it is truly unbelievable.
Craig, we're all curious: How in the heck does it work? Why hasn't it been possible before? Are there limitations (like isolated parts vs. buried-in-the-mix ones, etc.)? Is this thing as incredible and as paradigm-changing up close as it appears to be in the video? If so, I've got to rethink my whole approach to audio editing--as a creative option, not just a corrective one--if this turns out to be viable!
