View Full Version : Transferring iPod music to another notebook
I just bought (I should say received) a new Vista HP notebook. How can copy the files of my Nano iPod playlists from my Compaq XP notebook on to my HP Vista notebook? I'm guessing this is gonna be a pain in the ass. Oh, my Compaq XP notebook can't burn Cd's. Thanks for any assistance you can give me.

With lots and lots of difficulty I'm afraid!!
I'll be in a similar situation myself when I finally get a new computer since my laptop is seriously on the blink now. Most of what I've looked up suggest it's an absolute pain in the ass to transfer but it can be done if you've got the patience! One of the best ways I saw was to transfer all of the music in your iTunes library onto CD/DVDs or a memory stick, portable hard drive type thingy.... the word has escaped me :freak:
Since you can't do CDs it looks like a flash disk or other type of storage device would be your best bet. Another thing is that you're meant to plug your iPod into your new computer FIRST so it wipes the memory, THEN upload your music files to iTunes and start over again. It'll be annoying, but less hassle than doing everything manually all over again!
And on that note, Apple are a bunch of wankers
