View Full Version : NEW WEB DRUM SHOP NEEDS YOUR HELP!

Hey there Gearheads!

I am new to this forum. I wanted to take a moment to tell you that I just launched a brand new web store for drummers.

At one time I worked for a big music store chain.
Instead of working for a large corporation that only cares about the almighty dollar and not the people that help make them that dollar, I decided to go on my own.

If you care to help out an upstart company and are in need of DrumGear, please give me a chance to earn your buisness. I will be adding more items to my store soon. If you don't see something, just ask and I'll see what I can do.

Please visit www.buydrumgear.com

Please help spead the word!

Thanks!
GearHead Joe!

Yes we carry OSP electronic drums....go check em out.
And by the way, I read the posting rules after the fact.
Sorry for spamming about my new shop!
Thanks!

Standard rule here is NOT to advertise, sell drums or gear directly on the board. This would be better placed on the "Spam Sub-Board" Even if it's not Spam, that is the place for it.

Your mission seems very noble and as drummers, we could appreciate a seller that also offers excellent service after the sale. But again, this is not the place to post an ad for your site.

We are real, everyday drummers who talk about personal experience with drums, loves and life. If you would take the time to read many of the posts on here, you would see that many of us have been burned by drum web sites, Spammers, E-bay, other's selling gear through PMS. SO, to use your first post to place an ad (that reads like a form letter) for your site smacks very much in the way of crude.

If you care to really have a better marketing plan than to post ads on forums, why don't you join in on the discussions, answers some questions and then maybe say "hey, visit my link on the sub-board and look at A,B and C for your problem"

Spread the word, we have no reason to spread the word for you sight unseen and you are sure not paying us. While I am not the moderator, I have seen a few people banned from here for ONLY advertising on here.

I wish you good luck and any drummers are welcome, but YOU are going to have to dive in and swim to us and not just bait the waters and use us to "spread the word" like a blind flock. Good Day

No, no, you're confused. Mogwix was enquiring about ELECTRIC drums. They are quite different you see. Apparently they're the worlds best or something? You should look into them.

Thanks for your advise! And for the record, I am a real drummer too!

As I stated in my last reply about an electronic kit, I read the rules after the fact. So again my appologies.

As an FYI, I have a family to feed so I am not in the buisness of ripping people off. My service and reptutation in the drumming community is impeccable. The whole reason I started this store is because I was tired of being taken advantage of and being ripped off by the company I worked for.

I am just a drummer like you trying to earn a living doing something we all love...

Best regards to all...
GearHead Joe!

I miss them too in your inventory, the "WORLDS ONLY ELECTRIC DRUMS" invented by the legendary J. N., who was a star guest here until a while ago.

GearHead Joe,
We have "thin skin" around here after some "rip off artists" joined our ranks lately. Hang out here, build our trust and we will do business with you. And lots of business if you're legit.

I play a prototype Premier Gen-X kit. 10,12,14,22. The kit was from the NAMM show debut of the Gen-X series. At the time the lugs were not ready so they pierced them with Genista lugs and P badges. The finish is silver sparkle lacquer. This was not offered in the Gen-X line. The kit has black powder coated triple flange hoops instead of chrome. The 14 is actually a 14X14 floor tom.

I am running Aquarian Super II's on the batter sides and Hi Frequency resonant sides. My kick has a coated Aquarian Superkick III with a dot. The resonant side is a standard Premier logo head with no port. My tuning style is a little higher than most. My kick has a nice BOOM instead of a thud.

I use Sabian cymbals, mostly 19"'s and 20"'s.

I have eight snare drums: 7X14 DW maple, 5X14 DW nickle over brass, 6.5X14Stanbridge, 5.5X14 Stanbridge, Pearl Vari Pitch, 6.5X14 Tama Bubinga, Mapex Black Panther 3.5X13 piccolo and 5.5X14 Premier XPK.

As for sticks I love the Pro-Mark Ian Paice model.

As for influences \ favorite drummers....many: KISS \ Peter Criss and Elvis \ DJ Fontana is what perked my interest in drums when I was a kid. I am a child of 80's hair bands. I love Tommy Lee, Nicko McBrain, Tommy Aldridge and Vinnie Appice. However I love Sonny Greer, Buddy Rich, Ed Shaugnessy, Terry Bozzio, Bobby Jarzombek, Todd Sucherman, Dennis Chambers, Marco Minneman, Manu Katche and many more.

I respect all styles of drumming. My favorite drummers are the unknowns who get up in front of a crowd just to play.

Thanks!

According to vdrums forum, they have the same brain as the new simmons kits.

Lame drumming Demo (At least they sound better than "THE WORLDS BEST ELEC...." )

If they can make that 80's Simmons hex pad sound (DSSSHH) I may buy some.

read up, it ain't that Simmons. I think GC owns the name now and is abusing it (IMO.)

better to pick up a used D4 and some used pads.

I know which Simmons is which... I was around the originals. That's not the issue.

GC owns Simmons, and has new house-brand Simmons made in China. According to the Vdrums forum, an owner stated that this kit has the same electronics as the new "simmons" kits.

No need to get snarky because I have been around longer and know more about it than you. Don't feel bad, you just made a horrible mistake and a bad assumption. You'll bounce back.

well, I'm snarky by default, and you have no idea how long I've been around.

I'm certainly willing to concede you might know more about bullshit offshore garbage than I do. congratulations.

if you feel like starting a pissing match you might want to go practice on a vertically extended length of rope first.

What the crap just happened?

1. He made an assumption that was both arrogant, and erroneous
2. I corrected him
3. He got mouthy
4. I used the "Ignore member" feature, so I will never have to see his posts again, not that I ever really read them much.

Meanwhile, back to the thread before it got ignorant...

This low cost e-kit with more durable drumheads would fill the purpose I have intended for them. The are just an augmentation to my kit to replicate 80's electronic sounds.

Thanks Fender Picker!

And as an FYI to the person looking for the electronic kit. The OSP kits are made in the same factory as the Guitar Center branded Simmons kits. It is the same thing. One says Simmons and the other says OSP. The only difference is the heads. The OSP heads are like real drumheads. Much like the REMO practice pads.

Thanks again to everyone for putting up with me "breaking" the rules.

Is there a rule about people arguing on somebody's post?!! HAHA...
Glad to see you two made nice again!!

Thanks!
