My Brothers,
One of my trusty Cerwin Vega stereo speakers after (25) years finally blew a woofer. Help me find an on line dealer that sells replacement stereo speakers. I need a 12" woofer. Ebay is full of cheap Chinese knock offs.

You blew out a Cerwin-Vega woofer?
What did you do, hook it up to a 1-kilowatt amp? I thought those things were indestructable.

My Brother,
I was using it for a surround sound system and was hooked to a 200 watt amp. The left side sounded tinny during last nights NASCAR race. I pulled it out, tested it, and sure enough, the coil was dead. Just to make sure it wasn't the crossover, I swapped the woofer from the other cabinet and that one worked.
Our band has a 10K watt rack and I've never blown a speaker. The Cerwin Vega was circa mid '80s. I ordered
(2) replacements from Parts Express this afternoon.
I'm sorry to see it go!

I liked my Cerwin-Vega speakers, too. They gave me a good 20 years of service until I was moving them and accidentally touched the subwoofer's surround and it disintegrated. The satellite speakers didn't last much longer.
Replaced them with Polk Audio gear and am quite pleased with it.
