Hipshot has offered to display at least one of my guitars at their booth in 2009! For a little guy like me, that is really big... They have been so good to me and they are located only 1.75 hours' drive from me, so I may just build them one special with whatever hardware they want me to employ. I have used their stuff in virtually all of my guitars, so it is an excellent fit for me. To you veterans, this may not mean much, but to a little guy just trying to get a break, this means a lot.

I had 3 guitars out there in my room, but I could not really announce that fact or actively invite demos as I was a non-exhibiting manufacturer. So close and yet so far... When your guitars are as different as mine are and you do not have a reputation to draw customers, you really have to work 10x as hard just to get people to strap them on and give them a fair shot. This kind of gives me some hope. Sorry about the ramble... I am just so jazzed right now I had to let some of it out! :)

Wow thats pretty cool! Hopefully you'll get some more attention because of it. It'd be cool to make a special guitar for the show that utilised the best of Hipshots hardware and showed of your talents! :thu:

Thanks! One of my primary wood suppliers is going to donate some special stuff for the project. I don't really know what he has in mind yet, but hopefully I can create something with it that will draw attention for all involved.

Greg:

Speaking as one struggling builder to another...congratulations. I'm a little "jazzed" myself at the moment. I just found out that a branch of the local gov't (Mb Trade and Investment ) is going to pay for my own little 10'x10' piece of the NAMM show. Like you, I make guitars that are unique, and getting recognition...and respect...is a daily effort. Maybe I'll see you at the show.
