They really are pretty cool. I was able to drill a hole in the long bracket but that still put the 2 lights a little too close together. Since I bought 4, I decided to play around a little and I came up with a great set up. I attached one of the long brackets to the "O" clamp and I attached the second long bracket to the same hole as the first. So now their are two long brackets attached to the first light. I attached the second light to the holes I drilled in the other long bracket.

I also had to fly the lights above the "T" bar so they had a lot more space to move around. They work great and cover a lot of area since each Colorstrip can be aimed to cover different areas (one towards the floor and the second one aiming a little higher. This setup also allows the "T" bar and two Colorstrips to be "folded" pretty flat.

I believe the 4 Colorsplash 196s were a little brighter than the two Colorstrips but not that much that it bothers me. The added eye candy tilts the scale, not to mention the trees are lighter and use less energy.

Thanks to everybody in this forum that helped by answering questions and other things ;) ;).

Here are some pics.

Nice idea. That's a lot of firepower in a small space.

Try inverting one so the sequences run the opposite direction. That might be fun.

The look great and are very easy to move around. Now I know the importance of the hazer. Here in Illinois, all public places are now smoke free.

Also, does anybody have any ideas on a bright tight beam LED that can replace the Intimidator Colors that I used with the CS196s for contrast/eye candy.

I would like to use the Colorstrips as wash and the new fixtures as spots on the three of us. Probably put them on the ends of the same "T" bars as the Colorstrips but hanging down. Any suggestions.

I've been using a pair of colorpallets for wash, and a ledrain 56 for spot purposes. The 56 punches nicely through the wash, without being too much, and accents nicely. Not sure how the colorpallets compare to the colorstrips for brightness though.

second on led rain 56 or perhaps the minspot if you want movement...I plan on getting 2-3 minspots for the back and 4 ledrain 56's to spot the front on each band member...like the idea on the mounting..never thought of placing them above the truss and pointing down....

Chauvet's 64 Rain LED would be the ticket. To compare it to the Colorsplash 196's which offer 86.4 fc and a beam spread of 45 degrees, the 64 Rains put out 292 fc at a 16 degree beam angle.

They are going to replace the Intimidator Colors. Any idea what the MSRP on those are?

JW- thanks for the great idea.

rxnet- how are you planning on mounting the Minspots. Where is SoJ? I used to live in Millville.

I believe the map price is 179.99 but I'm at home.

I was first considering some upright box truss with base plates about 3-4ft off the floor and mounting to the top...but their so light that may be overkill...

I live in Linwood...40 minutes east of Millville
