My factory is a mile long and 1/4 mile wide, but I seldom walk from one end to the other. I'm hearing that the Anaheim Convention Center is 5X larger than the old Gaylord in Nashville. Is that true?

It's huge. Bring your skateboard.
It's so big, the convention center has its own zip code and telephone area code. It even creates its own weather!
Okay, I'm just kidding but it really is big. I stopped scheduling appointments unless I know the booth numbers because if there's an appointment in Hall A and another in Hall E, it's going to take me 15 minutes to get from one to the other - and 20 minutes on Saturday, what with the crowds.

Its big.

The cost varies. NAMM is not open to the public. To attend NAMM you must either be a member of NAMM or an employee/invited guest of an exhibitor. To join NAMM you must be qualified as engaging in the MI retail industry or an affiliate.

it's huge but after you go a couple of times it's cake.
not all of it is "must see".
the worst part is the crowds of consumers that are there when buyers are trying to do business.
you're placing a big order and some kid comes over and wants to know how much a guitar (some one of a kind prototype) is and can he try it out first.

If you include the "basement", there are four floors. It's freakin' HUGE. Wear comfortable shoes and bring a camera. Thursday and Friday are good days to see celebrities wandering around. ;)

Huge and loud. And fun. I like to start in the outer regions (like HAll E) where the new newer, less tenured exhibitors generally are. You'll find the Chinese knock-off artists shoulder to shoulder with the newest, most unusual and sometimes, most innovative stuff.
Lunch tip: Since they've pimped out just about every square in ch of space, including hallways and ballrooms, you'll find people sitting on the floor eating sandwiches. Getting in and out of the parking garages is a gigantic pain and those who come late hike from the Disney lots.
I like to get there early and hoof it over to the Hilton for the buffet lunch.

So big, you'd probably lose like 5 pounds walking the hall throughout the day.

I just looked it up on Google Maps.
It's right across the road from Disneyland.

Actually, here it is via the Aerial Google. It's that whole collection of buildings that is arranged somewhat diagonally.
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&time=&date=&ttype=&q=Anaheim+Convention+Center&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=48.240201,82.265625&ie=UTF8&ll=33.804309,-117.916667&spn=0.012445,0.020084&t=h&z=16&iwloc=addr&om=1
And if you look a bit to that huge lot to the north of the convention center, that round thing you see is Disneyland. Yes, the Anaheim Convention Center's length is roughly equal to the diameter of the entire Disneyland park.

I've been walking for exercise lately, using the web site Map My Walk (http://www.mapmywalk.com) to measure walking routes that I take around my neighborhood and keep track of how far I've walked in a month.
Just for kicks, I used it to measure a typical zigzag course through aisles through all of the halls of the Anaheim Convention Center. You can't walk a straight path so it's just rough, but a typical day for me, about one and a half halls, is approximately 2 miles. Add that to the walk to and from my hotel (I'm not wealthy or connected enough to stay in one of the really close ones) and maybe a lunch out one or two days and I'll put a dozen miles on my shoes for the show.
Time for a fresh set of Odor Eaters. http://www.odor-eaters.com/images/dog_sneaker.jpg
