And that guitar Craig is holding in the photo is the new Gibson HD.6X-Pro--also known as the Digital Les Paul. Craig reviews it in the February 2008 issue of Guitar Player (currently available).
Craig, is that the guitar you'll be performing with at NAMM? That's quite a setup you describe in the GP article!

And of course, HC newsletter subscribers got the scoop before anyone else when I reviewed it in Harmony Central Confidential #26, complete with audio examples and lots of pictures :) This was back in April, but if you missed it, the review has been archived in the Library --just click here. But to answer your question - no, that's not the guitar that I'll be using, as I'm going through a Pandora FX box into my laptop, rcording guitar layers then remixing them (it'll be fun). I'll be bringing my trustry Peavey Milano guitar, which has the distinction of surviving baggage handlers on two continents, including -- and I'm not making this up -- the baggage handlers for Delta Air Lines at the Atlanta airport. If it can take that, it can take a NAMM show. It's not exactly my PRS or the Digital Les Paul, but it's a fine and very playable guitar that I've used for my past NAMM performances.
Now, if I was doing the performance with EV2 and Brian Hardgroove on drums, you can bet I'd be using the Digital Les Paul!!

Will you guys hold me if the excitement of my first NAMM show gets to be too much?

You won't have to worry about being held. The show is so packed on Friday and Saturday you can't fall down, because there's no place to land!!

Craig, aren't you doing something for Cakewalk too?
Anderton

Yes, they're doing an interview with me about the new patch set I've developed for Rapture, called the Minimoog Tribute Expansion Pack. It's based on samples from a Minimoog I have that was signed by Bob when he was staying over at my place in California several years ago...a portion of the profits (from both Cakewalk and me) is going to the Bob Moog Foundation to help preserve his archives.

Grrr. One of my favorite PF songs. And yet another reason why it sucks that I'm not going after all.

Yes!! I got to jam with Dan on Sunday. He said he'd do a good job, but he was wrong...he did a SUPERLATIVE job, jamming along with the loops and driving the song. Great fun!! Thanks Dan!!

Craig's One Man Music Show at the Korg Booth. What was that signal path and software you were using?

Guitar > Korg PX5D > Presonus FireBox interface > channel of Ableton Live set to monitor input.
Rain Recording Windows laptop running Ableton Live also connects to the Presonus interface, whose output went to the monitoring system.
Pok wireless footswitch to enable/disable clips for recording guitar that I could then layer over.
Peavey PC-1600x fader box to control levels and solo buttons on 16 channels of Ableton Live.
Loops were from: Pink Floyd's Interstellar Overdrive (chopped up) and some other tunes from their first album, Discrete Drums, and my loop libraries (AdrenaLinn Guitars and Turbulent Filth Monsters).
The sets are pretty much improvised.
Lemme know if you have any other questions :) and thanks for asking!

Hi, Craig,
Any comments on the PX5D? (Especially vs the Line 6 PocketPod sounds/effects)
Best Regards,
Chuck
