I am beyond new to drumming, in fact have made it past my steering wheel in traffic, but am dying to learn!
With that said, until I figure out what the hell I am doing I would like to be able to control my volume and not drive the little lady nuts. So that brings me to the electronic kit. Hit me up, let me know watcha got!

I am considering a set of Simmons (original hexagon pads) kit off e-bay. I know the Alesis dm-5 has a setting "famous hexagons" but I am not sure how many of the affordable e-brains have those exact sounds. It might be more practical for a set of 5 pintech pads and a __________ brain...

$300 is a little hard pressed to get a decent kit. $500 range is about the closest you'll find anything! I've got a Hard kit that I could do for $450 plus shipping, but it doesn't have a module.

BTW, I'd like to see if I can buy an used set of Alesis or Simmons here in Houston. I'll be here for the next 3 weeks and my budget is around $300...
