Hard Truth

I was just looking at some of the customer reviews for Crank on Netflix and it seems that people either love it or hate it. It is an unapologetic action film with a good dose of humor. If you demand emotional or intellectual content, you will not like it. If you demand realism, you will not like it. If you only like "high class" entertainment, you will not like it.
Its strength is the humor and the non-stop pace of the action. The handheld camera work, quick cut editing and other post production techniques effectively enhance the frantic pace. There are few action films that I like because they tend to be formulaic and corny. This one avoids that by focusing on the action, never slowing down the pace, and effectively using humor.
