I'm cheap and I need some computer speakers. Just something with a natural sound that has adequate bass response, but no ghetto blasters. None of this tons of highs and lots of rumbly lows nonsense. $50 limit.

Amazon sells the Logitech X-140 pair for $30 with free shipping. No earth shakers, but decent for the price.

These would be worth a try - not a bad price with a sub and mp3 dock.

Or these if you want to go really cheap:

I just realized this was a somewhat older post. So what did you end up getting?

This thread got me looking at speakers for someone else and I ended up getting some for myself.

I have okay speakers with my desktop, but nothing to go with my laptop, which is mostly stationary (and where I do most of my music listening now days). Anyway, I went and picked this set up yesterday:

The sound is excellent, good base, and a good balance of mids and highs. They are actually worthy for using when listening to music or watching movies.

A few years ago I listened to many under $60 pairs in a PC store one day for a very long time and came home with Logitech's having never heard of the brand before. FWIW.

For a bit more I'm currently looking into these at $119 -
