Is it just impossible for iem earphones to compete with decent quality over ear hi-fi headphones?
I normally use my Shure E5's/custom moulds with my I-pod but i decided to take a listen using my Beyer DT311's and the difference was simply remarkable.
The Dt311's served up much more bass,a far fuller sound and a warmer and generally far more accurate representation of my music.
I may be naive but i was expecting it to be a far closer run thing but it was like night and day.
The Shure E5's seem to have very little bass and distort far too easily.
They just didn't sound as real as my Beyers.
Any Thoughts .....
