I thought this was going to bea nother corny Samuel L. Jackson movie like snakes on a plane. To my surprise I really liked it. Started out kind of weird but later on it all explained its self. Plus Samuel L. Jackson did good on guitar and singing the blues. In my opinion its a must see. :thu:

I agree. The director loves Blues Music and it shows in the film. Be sure and check out the "Extra" features, it has a nice segment on scoring the film.

It is hard to go wrong with a film that stars Samuel L Jackson, (who learned to play guitar for the film) and Christina Ricci in forty pounds of chain and "Daisy Duke" shorts for eye candy. LOL!

Yeah, this film was pretty cool until about the final half hour--when Justin Timberlake showed up. I mean, his acting was OK, but...

But Sam was a great bluesman. I'd buy his CD.

It was as good as Hustle & Flow. Ricci was hot, and I never thought of her that way. I loved how faith played a roll in both movies. Jackson needs to get these roles more often.

I liked "Black Snake Moan" a lot. On the surface, you hear that the movie is about an older black guy with a hot white girl chained up in his shack, you may think the story is lurid and dirty. But the whole thing is a morality play, where the man is just trying to teach the girl to NOT be a nymphomaniac.

Fascinating.

I didn't care if this was good or bad (although it turned out to be pretty good)
just to see Ricci writhing around in panties and cut-off Tshirt was WELL worth the price.

worst movie I've seen in a while. So fucking cheezy, horrible writing, during the wedding with the gold chain, the dumbass end scene where both idiots are going crazy. The blues in the film was okay, but the people dancing were dancing like they were at a hip hop club. The best scene was when Samuel L. Jackson confronted his brother about stealing his wife, his character was pretty good overall. And I didn't find Christina Ricci hot at all in this movie, it's hard to find someone sexy that is portraying a beatup skank.

SPOILER ALERT! :lol::poke:

....And I didn't find Christina Ricci hot at all in this movie, it's hard to find someone sexy that is portraying a beatup skank.

I figured as much; I just hoped they'd play that part ironically, as in "He needed killin'/She needed tamin'" :D

:confused: Were you getting popcorn during the football-field scene where she was bare-hootered for at least 5 seconds?

Anyway, I finally caught it on cable, and I give it 3.5 stars (or 70% =C-).

Direction= full star
Casting= full star
Acting= full star
Plot/sets/fx/misc.= half-star
Dialogue= zero stars

Yeah, the dialogue really hurt the film. So we're basically left with a mild, evening diversion with a fair stiffy factor. :lol:
