Okay I realise that Namm 08 is a long way off but I thought I'd start getting the ball rolling and if you have any ideas or suggestions or rumours etc about products possibly being released at Namm 08 put it here.
I'd like a new Fantom released and I'd love for Roland or Yamaha or Kurzweil to put out thier own version of Oasys out. Make it 20 times more powerful and stronger
:thu::):cool::);):wave::lol::D

20 X more powerful? Wow.
I guess it'd have to cut the lawn and trim the hedges too.
The OASYS is a heavy investment which puts it out the reach of many.
$3,000 seems to be the top off for a workstation.

I'd like to see...
A Digital Modular that can store patch data and work by Software Editor or cables. Unlike the Nords -It's sold in parts and not just a keyboard with a VST interface. It would work simlar to the Korg Legacy MS20 but every division would be sold separate. Even the keyboard would be modular. 2 -37 note controllers link to become a 74 key. The top could be rows of knobs or faders with the software editor controlling what sends what signals.

You can add banks of pads....pots...joystick.

Mawzer is VERY close to this idea.

I'd like to see Kirk Hammett's signature series Randall amp head being sold for a decent price.

I'm not planning on buying one, but I do hope it won't be expensive.

I don't know if this is considered Spam or not, but Ooh La La Manufacturing LLC, (boutique effect pedal company), is going to be there for the first time! We are super excited and I we love our location, right down the hall from the back escalator. All our stuff is somewhat new, so I thought it might be appropriate to post here ?????

anything in particular that you know people like to see in the booths? i have quite a few ideas but I'm always interested in what others think.

Marshall Jefferson; House generations a new loops CD by Loopmasters is being released at Namm, I'll be there with Loopmasters promoting it. It's got live strings, live horns, drums, guitars, and percussion, as well as synth and drum programming in a more soulfoul dancy vibe than you're probably used to with most loop compilations.

I would hope Marshall would jump on the low-wattage tube amp bandwagon. If they did a 5-watt head with a plexi type of tone and priced it $500 street it would sell by the truckload. I think the Tiny Terror, Epi Valve Jr., Blackheart & others show there's a serious market out there for that category. The Tiny Terror has been a brilliant marketing move in many ways. It gets people to take notice of and become interested in their "standard" line of combos and heads - which are a premium product relative to most amps.

" NEWS 1.1.2008

Ahhh! BRRRrrrand new year! Plenty of new toys in store! We have worked very hard getting a line of pickups to the point of perfection and those will be released at the NAMM show. The tone is SWEET FOLKS! I have to say I'm really pleased with sounds we are getting. Yup, they are Hand Wound with the best wire, best magnets, many rounds of testing before they are packaged to make sure you get something everyone would die for. We have a unique structure for holding the magnets that people really dig. For those that know exactly what you want we conduct an interview and build every parameter of the pickup to your specs (those are the Tiffany Select single coils) as well as a Vintage and Modern set of single coils that are sure to please anyone on their quest for tone. We are also releasing ATA/Flight cases to protect your gear on the road (or from the kids around the house!) so check that out too at the NAMM show! "

I will be there, but as a non-exhibiting manufacturer. I plan to bring one representative CamelBack, one Cicada, and one Mantis out there and have at my motel room for demo if anyone was interested. I will only be able to bring my V-Amp2 and headphones, but at least it will give you an idea of their range of tones and playability and ergonomics. I hope to meet with plenty of pickup,Parts, accessory, and wood vendors while out there and also put in good words for Dave Wendler on whose pass I am getting in...

You might be thinking of the Frankfurt Messe - they open it to the public, but NAMM is still a closed "trades only" show, even at the smaller "summer" NAMM show.

IMHO, I'm surprised that the NAMM board hasn't considered opening it to the public for one day... I think it would "prime the pump" for the retailers, and the manufacturers would find out first hand what some of the customers really think of their products.

That has been tried for a couple of years in the past. The results weren't favorable to the NAMM membership.

Hey, can someone at NAMM go to the Roland booth and tell them they removed the VG-99 Guitar processor from their website? It just started shipping last October or so, and recently got a firmware revision, so you know they don't mean to discontinue it. It has the rather organized VG-99 users up in arms.
