Sound Triggered Circuit?

Hi All,

Did a couple of searches in the archives, couldn't find an answer to what I'm looking for. Really, it's very simple. I'm looking for a trigger device that will essentially complete a circuit that is based on striking a snare drum. Whether it is by miking the snare (which is done anyways), or using some sort of trigger, ghetto rumble switch, etc. is not as important, just that when the snare's hit, a (very) low powered light will illuminate for a second and then shut off.

There is probably an easier way to do this but. You can use piezo (sp) mic's that will work with a midi convertor. Midi can be understood by many cheap lighting desks and will run a cue or chase from any midi inputted note...
