I have a Russian Big Muff and I'm considering either trying to get it modded to switch the inputs and outputs around and add a 9-volt jack or just rehouse it completely if it can also fit into something smaller. I know nothing about how to do this sort of stuff myself so I was wondering if anyone had any advice as far as how to find someone who could do it.

as far as i know, unfortunatly the jacks are mounted directly on the pcb of the russian big muff, i think it is at least so for the black one which our bass player has, and yes he always switches inpunt and output wrong and wonders why there is no sound :)
second thing, rehousing it to something smaller might also not realy work cause the pcb might be to big, i'm not sure but i think the pots are not mounted on the pcb, so this would be fine.
ok rehousing, and switching in and output:
- search for an enclosure which is big enough to hold eveything inside the big muff
- you need to think about where to drill your new holes
- for input output jacks, i recommend some new ones instead of the pcb mounted ones, you need von stereo jack (input) and one mono (output)
- unsolder existing jacks and solder wires into it
- you need to figure out what is ground and what is the hot wire
- for input the ground signal path should have two connections on the jack, so if no plug is in the input the power supply is cut off...
this should it be

Is it possible to post some pictures of the inside of the pedal? Also, some measurements of the board would be handy.

To swap jacks left for right/right for left just open it up,undo the plastic jacks and flip the pcb,its that simple!
Also a 9 volt jack isn't necessary as a battery will last almost forever in this, but if you want it that bad it takes a few minutes to do and will cost about 89cents providing you own soldering gear.
rehousings a piece of piss and google can teach you lots!:thu:

How about a full tutorial on rehousing a Russian big muff (http://www.voxblues.com/guitar/muff/) complete with instructions on adding a power jack, gut shots, etc.
Like Ned said, just flip the pcb over to get the jacks going the same direction as the rest of western civilization...
