Does anyone else out there have theHendrix recorded version book for the are you experienced disk. Published by Hal Leonard

The book is transcribed by Andy Aledort and I am using it to learn the wind cries mary. The problem I am having is when I play along with the song the notes and chords i am using out of the book sound like they are a fret to low. For instance the intro to the song....if I slide up a fret on the chords it sounds much closer than its written in the book. I bought this book about ten years ago so maybe it was just a mistake in the book...but I was curious if anyone could shed any light on it for me

thanks!

Well, I have no idea whether there's an error with the book or not, but Hendrix usually tuned his guitars down half a step (Eb).
If you're playing along with the recording, you should do likewise.

Keep us posted.

Then go back to standard tuning, and you should be set.
