yup, the Kenyan guitars are cool
Peter Couba owns the "Guitar Center" shop in Frankfurt since 1975.
He found two partner-workshops in Nairobi, Kenya. One is famous for the replica of old English colonial-style mahagony furniture, the other is the Technical School of the SOS Education Center, where young Kenyans are trained in woodworking. None of this wood is kiln-dried; it all has been dried slowly and natural in the moderate climate of Nairobi for years and years.

Gibson Guitar introduces several new models to debut at Musikmesse 2007, Hall 4.2E11. At Gibson’s booth guests will also have the opportunity to meet Gibson artists.
The Les Paul BFG is a stripped-down, rock ’n’ roll machine, blasted back to the bare essentials. Two volume knobs and one tone knob dial in the high-powered Burstbucker 3 humbucker in the bridge position and the singlecoil P-90 in the neck position. The traditional toggle has been rewired as a kill switch, and a mini-toggle at the volume knobs controls pickup selection. Featuring a Mahogany chambered body and unsanded maple top, the BFG has no binding, no figured top, no finishing touches.

Any press for the Marshall Vintage Modern amps? They seem more in line with the forum's tastes than the knob-fest JVMs, but I haven't heard much mention of them...

Those Eventide units look interesting too (same reservations as with the TC ones- Line 6 and BOSS just about have the super-delay market sewn)... any specs?

Sainty: you're not wrong. Apparently it's named after Jim Marshall and his daughter Victoria, who pretty much runs the company now (hence JVM). See, I wouldn't want to associate the father-daughter relationship so closely to that many knobs, but maybe that's just me :freak:

Must have been my mistake. All I could see on their website was a picture of a pedal on one side and a picture of some strings on the other, which was far less enlightening than your link.

Hee hee, their Shred Pro pedal has a "pot of booster gain". Is that more or less than an assload? :confused:

I'm still adding things I saw in Frankfurt, for some Chinese series I have trouble finding the brand name (the name is not on the pedals and the pedals are not in the documentation and not on the sites).

GNI: I am brazilian and got surprised when I saw a company using the same logo as NIG. I thought "WTF?!?!?"... anyway, I am also surprised that their products draw up your attention. I still use NIG strings. :)

Asia rules the world: nearly 70% of the products are made in china, vietnam and indonesia. some companies do not write that directly. I've seen "Made in PRC" and mostly something like "designed and developed by blablabla and made under supervision in our factory in china". Funny.

It's a modelling version of an electric piano. It's probably a quite expensive for just a few sounds and effects, you pay for the look...

But it was fun to play with it :D

I had a friend with me to take pictures, but he was not interested in talking to the people and he only wanted to go 1 day for everything. Next year I want at least one day for the effects only and talk a bit longer with the people I meet and a second day for more effects (or people who are not there the first day) and everything else :)

I met Olaf Nobis, I was at the Banzai stand and asked if he was tentacle, the guy selling all the vintage stuff on eBay and he was :)

I should have asked him where he finds all that stuff :D
