I just got a report that the weather is strangely nice in Frankfurt at the moment. Cold, but sunny, which sure beats years when it's been sleet and slush and general hell.
There... my Messe report is done. Whew, glad I got that out of the way.

Perhaps we'll get a report or two now.

I was born in Frankfurt. I was very young when I was born.
The outlying areas are really quite beautiful. That's about the best report I can give.

A lot of reports have been coming into the Keyboard Corner (http://forums.musicplayer.com/ubbthreads.php/ubb/showflat/Number/1724199/page/1) version of this thread.
Best,
Geoff

So you were a small Frankfurter to begin with?

A lot of reports have been coming into the Keyboard CornerPretty worthless so far. People pick up literature or press releases (that'll be on the web sites in a couple of days), but not many take the time to interpret what they saw for those of us who will have to wait several months before we see what they say.

Ugh. I can't for the life of me se spending $500 for a mixer and $250 for an iPod with a large HD just to be able to record in stereo at CD quality. All of these iPod accessories are getting a bit out of hand if you ask me....

iMultimix 8 with iPod....I'm suspicious of any product with a name starting with a lower case "i".
If I didn't check this out on the Alesis web site, I'd have thought it was someone's Photoshop joke. But I suppose that just like there are people who say "I have a computer, so why shouldn't I have a recording studio" this is for people who have an iPod and say (well, you know).

Well, it's just about happy hour on the second day. How about:
The new Mackie 8-bus analog recording console? Or is that a digital recording console?
B-Powered ProTools with 24-channel I/O hardware from Behringer, including world cloass mic preamps - $199
Hot gossip: John Oram acquires the Neve name, gives Trident to his ex best man Malcolm Toft.
Anderton, thinking he was "hooking up" with Fletcher, had the wurst time with a 97 pound transvestite.
Isn't anything new and exciting around there?

It's the last day of the Musikmesse, so I'm bumping this thread for returning members.

And I'm bumping it again. :)Maybe we'll have to wait for Craig to get out of the darkroom and post his videos. Or just read the press releases (http://messe.harmony-central.com/Musikmesse07/).

Hey guys!! I'm back. I had access to FTP sites and e-mail but couldn't log on to internet sites from the hotel. Anyway, didn't you notice the Messe Highlights that have gone up each day? 3 videos are up at http://messe.harmony-central.com/Musikmesse07/ and the final two are on the server. They'll be posted today.
I didn't get to see as much of the show as I wanted, so a lot of the highlights are more an overview of the show. I of course have a lot of footage in the can that remains to be edited...I got 73 videos done within a week after NAMM, but don't think I'll be able to do that kind of pace this time around. I will get them up as soon as possible, though.
My basic scedule was go to the Messe all day, eat something, then edit back in the hotel room for 5-7 hours. So I'm pretty fried, to say the least...one of the videos didn't get posted until 7 AM, and I was up at 10:30 AM to head for the show. Still, fun stuff...not a lot of new things, but you'll see more as the video page gets built out.

One other thing: The videos I did back at the hotel room are a little funky as I didn't have access to my full-blown editing suite. So improved versions will be cut and put up there soon.

BTW I wasn't the only person who was pretty impressed by the Bose ToneMatch thing. It's featured in the Day One video, check it out. We can talk more about it here.

I'm going to shamelessly spam my own Messe report here: http://acapella.harmony-central.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1586545
I was really happy with this Messe - it's given me a good focus on what to spend my time and energy on and what not :).

I would call that a "public service," not shameless spam! Great job, Yoozer. I have videos of John as well.
Think I should create a Messe forum like I did for NAMM and we can move all these threads there?

Yeah, but you'd probably have to scour the forum for older Messe threads too and move 'm retroactively to fill the forum up a bit.
The way I see it is that there's lots of buzz before it - a month or so, easily - at the days itself there's little to nothing, then the reports pour in, then you get a slight peak on that - and after that, there's nothing until the products are available in the stores (which then spawns, at least from what I've seen, a crapton of "vs" threads - "Synth X vs (newly released) Synth Y" - in my case.
Putting 'm in a separate forum is an option, but I think maybe stickying this one might be more useful. The word "messe" is uncommon enough to let the search engine work well on it :). I think if you did the move right now most people'd wonder where all the threads went (after all, nobody ever reads announcements or stickies ;) )

Please do Craig....It's starting to look like Harmony Central IS Craig Anderton and vice Versa...Dude, you need some help with all this stuff I think. I want you to know, it's HIGHLY appreciated craig! Thanks for all the hard work. :thu:

I'm glad that they were able to finish this for their April 1 deadline.
