I recieved a mint condition second hand direct pro 24/96 and cakewalk pro audio 9, however i did not recieve an instruction manual or any ideas on hwo to use it except for the help within the program. It is very complicated and i am in no mood at the present time to read and indulge myself into complicated rant that i can't understand. Does anyone know anywhere to go that has a simple introduction to the basics on pro audio??? I just want to wet my toes in the basics and then get more in depth within the next few months...anyone have any ideas? thanks

Yep but it'll cost you 30 bucks. Buy "Cakewalk Power" by Scott
Garrigus. Amazon.com has it and I see it a lot at Barnes and
Nobles and Borders bookstores. I think Scott does a good
job of explaining Cakewalk(he actually covers severa different
versions of Cakewalk in it) plus he has a message board where
he answers questions.
I am in no way affiliate with the book but I am a satisified
customer.

yes. I'll second that. I bought the book a couple of months ago and its an excellent guide. Also check out his site at www.garrigus.com (http://www.garrigus.com) for some good info. I'm not connected with the site or book either-- just a satisfied user. later.

Honestly the book is not that different from the manual. If you have one I suggest you skip the other. For the guy wo the manual it will be perfect. Peter
