hi all

i have the following prob with the meterbridge of this mixer...all the group leds light up - not all vertically - and the master out leds are off...it seems that is burned out in a way although all the other mixer works fine...also noticed on the pcb board of the meterbridge some scratches is there any kind of material that can be applied and restore at least the pcb surface ?...not sure if the prob cames from this though...any help would be great...tha other simpler solution would be to try and spot another meterbridge but not quite sure if this fixes the prob since master leds are out as well...

cheers:thu:

Have you tried reaching Soundtracs, they might have some insight to the problem (it could be a flaw that they know about).

To fix traces, the easiest way is to get some fine solid core wire, an Xacto knife, tweezers and a soldering iron/solder. Scrape about a 1/4" inch either side of the break (if there isn't a break in the copper then don't bother with this as that is not the problem), with the soldering iron tin both sides of the trace and then put the wire across the break using the tweezers to hold it. I would guess that something else went either in the cable to the meter bridge or a driver chip on the bridge causing the errors.

hi again

emailed soundtracs and their reply was the following

"Im afraid you have had a bit of a "wipe out " on the bridge , these can be
very tricky /time consuming . Sometimes all of the LED driver transistors
can blow "

can anybody please tell what is this ?...i am wondering if it can affect the whole mixer function....

Sounds like you can not view the meters but it should not affect operation of the board.
