Where should I go to get the best free drum samples? I'm recording on pc and using Fruity Loops and Sound Forge into Acid. The music is of the melodic pop/post-rock sort. So I need something that sounds kinda live even though I understand that no matter what it's gonna sound like techno.
suggestions appreciated

Go to a search engine and type in "Free Loops" you'll end up finding more than a few useful sites.

Personally i think fruityloops is great... play with the equalizer... you can get most of your loops to send more organic if you spend some time. That and some reverb helps sometimes... very little... unless you're going for a grande feel.
I use fruityloops and soundforge.. and it works for me... but most of my tracks have a bit of an electronic element to them.
But when i set my EQ just right on the drum loops i can get it to sound nice... and have the volume on the drums turned down in your mix. That way they won't stand out so much and instead accent the song.
