Anyone have a preference, pros/cons ?
I have noticed that after loading many
DirectX sound plugins that the Windows OS
bogs down. I don't notice this bog when using
VST plugins. Again, I would love to hear some
of your guys thoughts on plugins and the best
way to deal with DirectX bog-downs..
Cheers,

the best way to avoid DX bogs... STOP USING THEM!!!
not to mention that the plugs available in DX format are generally pretty nasty... all the really good native plugs are VST based... use those ones, and you'll have better results...

I agree that VST plugs generally work better. They don't get all up in your system like the DirectX ones do.
I disagree that the best plugs tend to be VST plugs, though. All the Waves plugins are DirectX, as are some Steinberg ones (Magneto).

What are a few good resources for plugs? I've used
thedirectxfiles and it has alot of good links to the
home sites of the developers which I might add offer
DX and VST variations of their plugs.
Thanks for the info guys!
