These were cool, the guy from Chesbro walked through them...I am Ibanez oriented much to the dismay of PRS purist pals...yes, very cool.

The fact that the new DigiTech Vocalist could generate vocal harmonies based on what you were playing on rhythm guitar was pretty astounding. It must be quite a task to extract chord types from a guitar.

How well did it work and how good do the harmonies sound (if you got to hear it )?
I'm intrigued by the unit especially since it has a guitar input with minimal effects. I could really see a use for it in a solo acoustic act - plug the mic and guitar into one box, get effects, a tuner, mixing, and output directly to some powered speakers.
Any word on MRSP for the different models in the line?

First of all, love your location :)
I indeed got to hear it, that's why it was so mind-blowing. I honestly expected that it would work if you played "Louie Louie" and that would be it, but the guitarist was playing some pretty complicated chord shapes and yup, the box was generating harmonies. I'm bouncing the video footage to hard disk right now...it should be up before too long.
I am curious what happens if you sing before you hit a chord -- does it retain the previous setting, just kind of wait around until the chord hits, or what? I guess we'll find out. Oh -- I forgot to mention, there's also pitch correction built in -- I'm not a fan of same, but I can see where it would be handy live.
I've attached a picture of the smaller one...there are two models.

Only the VocalistLive4 will have the pitch correction.
The unit remembers the last chord in for it's harmony so you could hit a chord and stop playing and just sing away. The harmony's won't change until the next chord is played.
I must of heard our demo 9 times a day and I still stopped and listened each time. I could post all the specs I could but it won't matter until you hear the unit in action. The entire time Mark Copper demo'd the box I didn't hear one wabble or weird harmony and he was playing stuff like "Byrdland"

I take it you work for digitech then. ;)
A few questions:
1. Any word on the MSRP of both units
2. Can the mix of the aux in be set on the unit, or it set and expected to be adjusted by the output of the (mp3, cdplayer, whatever)
3. What functions can be controlled by the external footswitch?

Wow. Nice!
BTW, I noticed on your spec page for the vocalist 4 that the "M" in MP3 is missing and instead is replaced by a <LI> bullet point.

Doug- Vocal thang ( no pun) that is sweet!! Defin on my list!
Whats up with the GSP1101?
few questions- Can it do 2 sep amp models and be assigned l or r?
since it has 2 of the dna2 chips can you have effex programmed independently to l and r? I've had a GT-8 and like it. I like the rack unit. Anyway Is the 1101 as versatile?
last q- when are the manuals being posted so we can look at them better.

IMO, my vote for the best and unique product of NAMM 2007, under $50.00. On my last day, I saw a small booth in the D-Hall by Roland, that these two guys were showcasing a new double capo. It pretty much combines a short cut or partial capo and a regular capo into one unit, allowing for some cool alternate tunings and open voicings on a regular standard tuned guitar. You could also flip it around and use it as a regular capo.
Anyway, I was blown away and entertained with some of the stuff they were doing with it and they were nice enough to give away some free shirts (unlike the big boys who went cheap this year). I tried to buy one but they freakin sold out on day 3. There was a line of peeps signing up for pre-orders, so I just did that.
Anyway, if you missed it, here's their website, www.transpocapo.com
other than that, nothing really suprised me at the show.

That Digitech harmonizer looks very exciting indeed. I've wanted a harmonizer for some time! How is the sound quality? Not too chipmunky I hope! I'm also glad to see Digitech have gone for a rather more professional looking metal finish instead of those God awful ugly things they made before!
p.s. that cappo thing looks very interesting indeed!

It was the first video I rendered and it's on the server, so I'd expect it to be posted within 24 hours. Catch the part at the end where the guitarist is playing some really complex chords, yet the harmonies follow along.
Where would this server be? There does not seem to be anything on your homepage. BTW I subscribed to “Device’ way back when!

Carvin finally re-issuing these bad boys. Make my ultra V with a pair of long horns and a flamed top and we're in business.

Regarding videos: They're being converted to a streamable format as we speak -- uh, type -- and you'll be able to access them when you click on the Winter NAMM banner on the top of the home page. I'm hoping the eight videos I did yesterday will be up today. I'm working on more now.

There are three Ibanez videos that have already been converted: One on basses, one on guitars, and one on the 20th anniv signature model. They'll be among the first batch that goes up.

The only Winter NAMM press I received from Carvin was stuff we had already run--the UX1000 Wireless System, The BR615, the Carvin-Wear Collection, The Icon IC5S Bass, and the LS Series Loudspeakers. There was nothing in their press kit about these guitars.:freak:
As for Ibanez, they were handing out their press kit at the show, but I wasn't there to grab one. We're working on that right now though!

There was a freak rendering issue with the DigiTech AVI file (I should know, I'm the one who shot it) so I had to re-render in a different format. This jumped it into the next batch to upload, so it will probably go up tomorrow. Right now there's a queue of around 60 videos waiting to be uploaded, though, so no guarantees.

I'm very much between the Marshall JVM, the new Ibanez RGs and the Morley Volume +. The Morley is the only one i'll be able to afford though  (within the next few years anyway :P). Having said that, the Volume Plus looks perfect for me - I always liked the idea of the old PVO, as it was active, and had that minimum volume control; great for rhythm-lead, lead-solo, but i like to do volume swells sometimes, so this looks awesome :D.
