There were lots of new entries in the amp category at this NAMM show -- from Crate (in 3 different lines), Genz-Benz, Marshall, Vox (50th Anniversary), Peavey (the Windsor and JSX), Orange (the Tiny Terror), Hi-Watt, and even acoustic-guitar-pickup guru L.R. Baggs. Stay tuned!

I was surprised that Fender didn't announce any additions to the Supersonic line or anything more refined in their modeling line to replace the Cyber Champ / Deluxe.

They came out a year or two ago, but I really love the small handwired Marshalls....I heard a demostrator at the Dunlop booth playing a strat through one at the show and even at a low volume I was in love...

Very curious.
Thanks.

I saw the booth in the same place as last year, but I didn't hear any amps...I wasn't too excited last year when I heard them, though...they sounded kinda stiff and sterile....

I didn't get a chance to play it but the Burriss amp smoked.

I heard some sound bytes of the Fender '57 Deluxe and I have to say it sounded pretty badass. I'm dying to hear the Marshall JVMs too. I absolutely love my Marshall TSL602 so I'm curious to see what these new guys can do.

They did, looks sweet. Heard through the grapvine that they are gonna be kind of pricy (900 usd for the stack). Still though I am definitly thinking about it. 20 micro stack tube amp would be great in the studio.

Just to set the record straight - I'm not really loyal to any brand, but there are economies of scale... When someone like Fender comes out with something decent, which is affordable by most everyone wins. It's just that most of the time, they don't think the product through all the way, or to refine things too much would make things to expensive. Take the Hot Rod Deluxe - a fairly low priced small tube amp - but we could all name probably three things which could have made that amp a home run for Fender.

... which is probably what the Supersonic Combo is - most things addressed, but almost twice as expensive. The funny thing is that the HRD can be too boomy and the Supersonic Combo is lacking in the bottom end - go figure.

I think maybe a used Boogie F-30 is the best way to go - smaller, separate tone controls for each channel, and more tone...

I don't understand why there aren't any F-30 clones out there.

He couldn't get it together in time for NAMM. I love Mark, and have an amp that he modded that sounds just killer, but I think the guy needs some help specifically with organization. I'm sure that when they are ready they'll sound great though...
