Whoever was at the NAMM show, feel free to chime in as to what you saw that was cool in the world of electric guitars. I saw at least a few nice things, which I'll post soon.

Jon, you saw the VG-Strat, right? Did they give any idea of battery life -- with the thing running off 4 AA batteries, I figure they should definitely last for a whole set or two.

I DID see the VG-Strat, and it was impressive, as was the VG-99! But I'm getting ahead of myself.
The battery life was quoted to me as 8 hours -- which is enough for two nights' worth of music, or about 2-1/2 times through the Allmans' "Mountain Jam." :)
You can actually probably squeeze more life out of the batteries than that, especially if you take breaks. (Batteries, like people, have a way of, uh, recharging their batteries, when given time to rest.)
Four AA's is a pretty cheap way to get all that power for 2-3 nights' worth of music.

Hi,
I won one of the new Gil Parris signature Reverend guitars at Saturday night's All Star Guitar Night auction. In fact, it is one of the prototypes ... very cool guitar! This is not a typical guitar that I would own, but so far I am very pleased with it. The neck is sleek and fast, with good access to the upper frets, and it has both treble and bass rolloff potentiometers. The bass rolloff is especially cool and functional.

I have one of those on order, and am expecting good things. How well does the Lace pickup blend with the HB's? How would you characterize the overall tone of the guitar? I think it's a very cool looking guitar, and I'm looking forward to getting mine. Congrats on winning yours.
BTW - why would you say that it's not a guitar you'd own? You don't like the looks? Or the tone? Or something else?
Thanks

The PRS guitars with custom inlays and paint were awsome as usual. They've got some new low cost guitars coming out that looked nice too.
