I am running Pro Tools Le on a G4 and have run into problems recording audio and MIDI to my Lacie 40 GB Firewire hard drive, which I recenlty reformatted due to fragmentaion. Everything went fine as far as data transfers go, but now when I try to record audio in PT sessions that were created before I reformatted the drive, PT says that it "could not allocate space for recording!" This seems odd since I only copied my most recent sesions back to the drive after formatting it, so only about 12% (5GB) of the drive is in use. Even stranger is the fact that MIDI data (which requires much less disk space) will record fine in these older sessions.
New sessions have similar recording problems. I can record about 2 bars of audio in a new session before I get a message that reads, "DAE error-9023 was encountered." Attempting to record MIDI data illicts the same response without the 2 bar delay. It seems to me that there is probably a simple menu option I have to change somewhere in DAE, or else the extensions folder; however I can't seem to find it.
As of yet, I haven't tried trashing PT and re-installing it from the CD, but I'd like to aviod that if possible since I'm not even sure that will fix my problem. Other suggestions would be appreciated.
