Hey everyone,

I've been using DECKII for the past couple of years and need to replace it with something more current.

Any suggestions for basic multitrack recording? Is ProTools still a good one to look at?

I'm running it through a Mac G4.

ProTools is good, but it can be a bitch sometimes depending on the software you use. For a multi-tracker I use DP3 and for two track recording and/or mastering I used Peak.

At lease try ProTools FREE. It is limited to 8 tracks but has all features as itīs bigger brothers. And it is also...free which is nice.

I've just migrated away from Deck II; couldn't stand the lack of support, or the price tag to upgrade to the VST version. I'm using Cubasis, the little brother of Cubase. It's nice and easy, good VST implementation. Reasonable price, too, for someone who's justplaying around with recording.

Well, I just got a new version of DECK 3.0

Deck was bought out by Bias and they've made some nice additional features. They've included a bunch of free WAVplugins but I haven't tried them out yet. So far it seems pretty good. Less bugs than the earlier version.
