I once saw an episode of that show Silk Stockings where a guy and a girl got funky in a studio right above a rack with an Eventide H3000 in it. It was one of the coolest things I have ever seen on TV.

...almost as cool as Jody Foster walking up to a DSP 4000 and spinning the knob, revealing the alien message in the movie Contact! Too cool.
El Grinder
10-17-2002, 11:44 PM
I fell asleep during Contact. My freshman year of college I did a lot of drinking, staying up late, then doing the involuntary crash out thing. I remember that I was in my neighbor's dorm room, waiting for a group of frends to go out to go eat. I was watching Contact and just zonked the hell out.
If I knew there was an Eventide in it, it might've held my interest. Did I mention that the ending is SO much cooler when you're zoning in and out of sleep? Then you can dream that the ending is actually good!

This is what I do if I were in Maui. I'd get a triple mocha frappicahino after I smoked a tiny hit or two of kind bud with some local Hawaiian Tropics Babes. Then I'd break out the telescope and check out some astronomicals. Maybe try to dial in Saturn or Jupiter. Thats pretty easy. Maybe graduate to some of the Messier objects like local clusters M80 or M81. If I wasn't too stoned or jittery from the Starbucks I'd up the ante and try to dial in a galaxy or a nebula. I'd try for M33 Andromeda or the Orion Nebula. I've seen both and they are spectacular! :D

I just finished some x-tra cheddar goldfish while drinking a delicious mike's hard lemonade. I'm giving my fingers a break from playing. I found an interesting 'tide patch in the Curiousities bank called "smooth crystals". It sounds very much to me like the "resonator" type effects from some Lexicon units, I think. I still gotta figure out how to put a ducker in it so it won't be adding noise under my dirty Mark III guitar tone, but it'll shine through when I stop playing.
Oh yeah, ever try to figure out how to patch Stereo Tremolo to accept just a mono input to drive both stereo sides? *shakes head* isn't as simple as it sounds either.

No, tuv, I didn't grow a second head like the guy in that commercial. I do have a parasitic alien eating my organs like the guy in the next commercial for Mike's hard cranberry lemonade though.
I really enjoy that commercial. And I watched Alien 3 last night too.
Quite honestly, the only alcoholic beverages I seem to drink anymore are red wines (mainly cabs), Mike's hard lemonade and hard cranberry lemonade, smirnoff ice and very rarely a pina colada if I'm out to dinner. (I got a taste for coconut stuff while out on Maui. See how this all interblends?)

pepper can go fine on ramen..
sorry, i'm really burnt out on ramen right now.. i finally got close to finishing off that 48 pack bulk box I got last year.
You can put ranch on COLD ramen noodles and try to make some type of pasta salad out of it (although egg noodles and italian dressing work better)...
You can put ketchup on ramen to make "ghetto spaghetti". You can cook ramen with pork, make ramen and chicken stir fry...
never, though.. never try to mix ramen with tuna... it is simply disgusting and reminds me of the scene in The Empire Strikes Back where han solo slices open the snow beast and the fat and meat chunks pour out of it's midriff.... bleh...

You said you are "sucking some serious piss" is that Morris talk for kickin' back a few cold ones? I practiced some guitar stuff tonight for like 3.5 hours. I did a lot of cool exersizes and arpeggoios to loosen up my hands a bit. After about 45 minutes I can start to whip up some cool phrases and longer legato style jazz lines. My new guitar is great. "Vital Tech Tones" is the band with Steve Smith and Victor Wooten. I like regular Tribal Tech best. Theat has Kirk Covington on drums. The earlier records have studio guys. I just picked up a mint used G-Force for 400$. It has the manual and the unit has no scratches on it! I had it layed away at Guitar Center for like a month.
