Can Digital Performer Loop?

In all I've read it says you can prepair samples, but can you run loops... as in the way acid or samplitude can? I just want to be able to set parameters and then run the loop over and over for a while... alter pitch or tempo in places. I Know this is a basic, but the basics are where I need to start in understanding if I should get DP3.

You can easily do this and a lot more in DP3.....
