Was using Roland Jv35-Midiman-PPC6290, with Mastertracks Pro6...all worked fine.
Now have same setup but with an iBook and the Midiman is dead, won't work (even using an ac adapter).
The interesting thing is that I was never able to get Jv35/MidimanMastertracks to work with my 5300ce laptop either.
I've been using all of the same stuff for years and the only time I have problems is when I try to use a laptop. So it must be a laptop thing.
I really need some help. Any ideas??
Thanks,
Linda

What version of MacOS are you using? There are apparently some USB issues with MacOS 9.0 that are resolved by upgrading to 9.1.

I've had this problem using everything from 7.5 through current 9.2

Using the latest drivers for the Midiman? USB or serial?
If serial, are you using a serial-to-USB adapter? If so, that could be the problem.

What sequencer are you using now?
If you're still using MasterTracks, that's your problem.
MTPro is not compatible with anything after OS8.
