View Full Version : Aardvark Q10 ?
Hey!
I wanted to ask a little about the sound card-Aardvark Q10.It has 8 simultaneously recording input analog tracks all pre-amplified.Making it just what I need to record a drumset with eight mics.Cool!
What I wanted to ask was the midi part. Can I record a keyboard through midi on the soundcard?I looked but didn't get clear info.

As there are 16 channels available using midi, you could essentially record 16 different keyboards. The problem is in the connectivity and as the unit only has one in and one out, AND considering the Midi IN/OUT/THRU scenario I don't think it's possible to record more than one per connector. I would have to check with the logical side of my brain which is currently out to lunch due a Vodka binge last night..
If the midi channels on various synths are set differently, then it's a matter of connecting the keyboards from one to the other. Again, this is where IN/OUT/THRU lets it down... I think...burp... ;0(
One is easy though...!

Yes you can. I'm presuming you know the difference between midi and audio -it's quite common to get them mixed up...
It has one midi in/out so you can connect a midi device to it. if you need more you can daisy chain them together via midi-thru.
You'll probably need OMS (depending on your sequencer) to utilize it correctly.
