Low wattage head shootout! As many heads under 18 watts as you can muster, all through the same cab, with clips!

the shootout concept seems like a great idea.
maybe pedal shootouts, recording software shootouts, etc.

The Presonus Eureka is of interest, Rick from Presonus seems to be around a bit and it looks (from the other reviews) that Presonus is pretty active in supplying demo models
I think it'd be interesting to hear about the unit in the conext of a
mic preamp/channel strip AND as a a preamp for instrument applications (it seems this might have appeal for acoustic/electric instruments)
Thanks for the suggestion box!

Presonus Firepod
MOTU Traveler
and other 8 or 10 audio in cards shootout.
Another one would be to hit the lower end market and do shootout comparison by cheap software:
Cubase LE, Tracktion, Magix Music Maker, N-Track and so forth.
Usually all the software reviews are now of apps that are $400 and up while noone seems to want to touch the amateur home recordist market.

My suggestion is a simple one:
STOP WRITING EVERYTHING IN THIS FORUM USING *ALL CAPS*!!! IT'S REALLY, REALLY ANNOYING!
ALL OF THE TITLES ON THE MAIN PAGE ARE WRITTEN IN ALL CAPS, AND THIS MAKES THEM HARD TO READ.
Thank you for your cooperation.

I’m very curious about this little device. Especially, I’d like to know how good it is for live performances. Also, would be great to find out the truth about 24D’s AD/DA conversion there is an insane amount of marketing hype on the TC web pages but for some reasons (based on my past experiences with TC poco card) I’m very, very skeptical.
Anyhow here are my questions:
1. Is it suitable for live performances?
2. Quality of AD/DA
3. Is it possible to use an onboard FX if I’m using ADAT ins)
4. Stability of drivers
5. Quality of the included FX
6. Are there any plans for other plugins in the near future?
Looking forward to this review!!!

Hi Craig. You know already that I'm looking for an audio interface for my
TitaniumPowerBookG4 soon to be upgraded to a MacBookPro.
As I was saying in a different topic, even if I was adviced (by most of the guys I know in the bussiness) to get a MOTU interface, in the meantime I fell in love with the Konnekt 24D.
However, since I'm not in a hurry and I can wait a couple of months (maybe even 3 or 4), will you PLEASE review the Mackie Onyx1220 with the FireWire option, M-Audio NRV 10 and Apogee Mini-Me. And I'm begging you to do this because:
1.You see, because of the various problems Mac users are having with Konnekt 24D, I'm not convinced anymore that I want to buy it.
2.Now that I'm asking around, I'm hearing more and more about the extraordinary quality of the Mini-Me and its pres and converters.
3.Since I'm a live performer, the Mackie Onyx with FireWire card option and
the M-Audio NRV 10, really got my attention. It would be interesting to have that recording interface in the form of a mixer. Much better for live recording (among other things). That would really be great for me, even though I'd have liked an interface with Audio+MIDI, everything in a box, like the Konnekt 24D is.
Ofcourse, the most important thing is the compatibility between the interface and my Mac+DigitalPerformer. The unit that "talks" with my Mac+DP best, is gonna win.
Please Craig, review these units, don't find easy ways out like: "X or Y company didn't want to provide the unit for a review":)
PLEEEEASE!!!!!

Agreed.Even though I have several high quality tube heads and combos, finding a good "grab n' go" solid-state combo has proven itself to be quite elusive. The recent Guitar Player Magazine solid-state 30 watt combo shootout was on the right track.

Unfortunately there are no plans for these to be given the Pro Review treatment in the near future, but they might end up being reviewed for either the Harmony Central newsletter or EQ magazine. I'm particularly interested in checking out the NRV 10.

Rocktron Utopia G100.
A shoot-out of the FloorPOD, Digitech RP250, Zoom G2.1u, Korg AX5G, Rocktron G100, Boss ??? would be VERY cool. Though I imagine that the findings would be that they sound different, some are better for some things than others and vice versa, and that depending on the features one needs and budget that would narrow the field down a bit I'm sure.

One more vote for the Rocktron Utopia G100. I tried one out at NAMM, but it's hard to get a good feel with headphones and 3,000 people breathing down your neck. I'm especially interested in how the unit does in a live situation going direct to the PA, rather than through a guitar amp.

They sounded really good to me, but then most multi-effects units sound really good through headphones (depending on the quality of the headphones).
Most of the sounds were overprocessed (Way too much delay/reverb/chorus) but I guess that's to show off how much you can load on. I currently use a Digitech RP50 and I don't use any of the presets for the same reason.

How about some sort of file server for hosting audio clips from gear. I know this has been brought up, and there's some sort of movement to get it to happen, but in the mean time, maybe setup an account with a 3rd party file service, have an option for HC members to donate a dollar or two to its cause (or something).

Craig - I now you are winding down on the Sonar Pro 6 review, and you've stated many times that you are not a fan of LE versions of programs, but looking at just released Sonar Home Studio 6 XL, it appears to have leap frogged the Studio version a couple of areas.
For those who can't afford or can't stomach the immediate learning curve of Pro, could you put an addendum at the end of your Pro review with some sort of feature matrix comparing Pro/Studio/Home/Home XL?
Or perhaps you could use your influence on the Cakewalk people to do the same on their website?

Craig,
You might consider reviewing the Audio Kontrol 1. I just purchased the AK1, and it is running flawlessly on my laptop - MUCH better than the Toneport UX1 I was using as an interface prior to my purchase.... USB2.0, and bus powered....
So far, I am really impressed (I may not need to get a Konnekt 24D after all.....:-) Of course, I'm not exercising it to its fullest (I don't need 192 khz, for example, and right now am only using it live (with AT2 in Live 6 DAW), but everything is just great so far! But I would like to see a serious review (as a bleeding edge early adapter...:-)
And I am FREE- free at last from the clutches of Line 6...:-)

Here's a request I'm curious about - a technology comparison between FireWire and USB. Is there a methodology that might allow you to see how one path versus the other affects the ability of an interface to offer reliable, trouble-free operation?
I'm not convinced it would truly "decide" anything... but it might yield a sort of "sliding scale" that can help me gauge where I want to be, given my needs. My plugin and multi-track needs are lighter than that of others, and I'm about to buy—but I'm confused: where does the interface weigh-in when making a buying decision? Assuming that the features I want may exist in several devices, is there a point where the bus becomes the deciding factor?
From what I've read here, I've developed the belief that Firewire's lesser need "to manage the connection" would make it a better choice, giving it a better chance to handle "more IO" passing through it. I also know how many USB devices I have plugged in right now! Firewire looks as though it would have fewer traffic jams. This has caused me to look at Firewire more closely, and put USB devices aside for the moment. But—might a USB interface be more than enough for what I want? Am I shelving perfectly good options and possibly paying for more than I need? I can't answer, and wish I could.
Obviously, the host computer's capabilities come into play (even the chips they use for various processes). It might be an experiment with too many uncontrollable factors, too. But I thought I'd ask, as collectively there may be more experience and knowledge here than I've been able to find on my own!

For me, the argument for USB was that my laptop only had a 3-wire Firewire connection, and thus no bus power, but has USB 2 on all ports. For only two channels, I think the question may be moot, especially with USB 2.
But I have to admit, the TC Konnekt 24D really looked good; I even purchased an Adaptec Fireconnect PCMCIA card, which I think will power the unit...

I would like to see a pro review of the tascam us- 144 or any other usb2 interface. I am looking at any interface options. You have looked at several firewire interfaces, and rightly so based on their popularity. Now, how about a usb2, pci epress or maybe even a pci interface unless they are dying.
I am interested in the tascam because I heard that they licensed their asio usb driver from a third party. It would also be great to see how a mac vs pc does with this usb2 interface.

+1 here; Revalver MKII is more than equal to the other big boys (GR2, AT2)
I just tried the demo and immediately sprung for it, just by trying the preamp models, never mind the rest of it.....:-)

I'd really be interested in a review of the Vox ToneLab LE (and, if possible, a comparison between it and the Line 6 PodXT Live and the Boss GT-8)
The following is a link to a very thorough and unbiased review of multi-effects units which include the Tonelab (SE) / PODxt LIVE / GT-8, plus a couple of others:
http://www.thestompbox.net/ViewArticle.aspx?ArticleID=21
A couple of things to keep in mind:
The LE is really the same as the SE with a couple of minor differences - one less pedal (so the unit is smaller), the inclusion of a distortion module aimed at Nu Metal type sounds, a global output type selector (amp, recording, PA, etc.) - but for comparison purposes, it is a great comparison review.
Also, remember that this review is written by a person who is not afraid of MFX's and is not a amp/tube amp snob. There are many guitarists who would never rely on one of these units for their main guitar tone. I'm not in that camp...
The upshot of the review is that the Tonelab sounds and feels most like an amp, is easy to operate, but is somewhat limited in effects quality and flexibility. The GT-8 is the king when it comes to flexibility, but many have complained that the amp / preamp simulations could be better. The PODxt is sort of in between the two, especially aimed at metal sounds - but may lack a bit feel area.
Finally, 2 things I always point out with MFX's - get to know the unit inside and out (read the manual...) AND it makes a big difference what you plug the unit into (in front of guitar amp / loop of guitar amp / full range amp such as a powered monitor or keyboard amp / directly into the PA) - there is also a favorite baby in the modeling / MFX world - the Atomic Reactor amps which were designed with these types of units in mind:

How about a review of the Focusrite Saffire (LE)?
It would round out the numerous pro review that have now been done on firewire audio interfaces.
It would be a shame to leave this one out of the mix (even though it has been out a while). In my opinion, it's got some of the best preamps in its price range and the performance is great. But I would love to see your opinion and responses from others on the forum.
My only negative comment on it is that it's a bit bulky compared to some the other interfaces and it has separate mic and instrument inputs (rather than Neutrik combination inputs).
Also, for Macbook Pro users out there, this one can be bus powered without problems (as long as you get one with a recent serial number - they changed the spec to match Apple's new requirements once they became aware of the issue).

I'd like to see reviews of mid and low priced guitars. Most of the reviews online are from amatures like myself and are usually written during a honeymoon phase with the spanking new guitar.
I'd love to see what a pro thinks about Reverend, Agile, Xaviere and the rest of lower priced axes that get so many posts on HC. For that matter, maybe you should review the "hot" items that seem to pop up all the time on HC... GFS pickups, etc.
Thanks
I'd love to see products compared and rated with features and qualities - also matching pedals to guitars and amps, how to get that classic hendrix-clapton-page, etc. sound from your rig with analog pedals. Also grouping by price range would be nice. Really, a lot of folks don't know what all is out there as far as analog pedals go.
How about some sort of file server for hosting audio clips from gear. I know this has been brought up, and there's some sort of movement to get it to happen, but in the mean time, maybe setup an account with a 3rd party file service, have an option for HC members to donate a dollar or two to its cause (or something).
Great Idea!!! A data base for audio clips where owners have something to say and show about their gear. One thing, though: gotta list all the equipment: guitar, boxes, amp and settings! So we get a real idea.

Id love to read about the Korg M3.
It doesn't look like we'll be doing the M3, although Korg will be getting us the Zero mixers for a Pro Review - that should make for something pretty interesting :)
These suggestions are great, keep 'em coming...there have been some instances where companies decided to participate in a pro review due to a suggestion being posted here. We'd of course like to act on all of them, but at the moment, we have a limited number of people doing pro reviews; furthermore, we require that the company monitor the thread and answer questions directed to the company itself. Not every company is willing to do that, or has the time.

Hi Anderton-- I guess Helicon has a guitar-midi converter coming out this summer as an add on to its Voicelive. It will operate the same way as Digitech's Vocalist Live-- Helicon seems to be keeping up with the competition. I suppose that would make for a good review-- either by itself or as a comparison between the Helicon and the Digitech.

dear anderton ,
i am intrigued about the m audio nrv10 . it seems to be an alesis io26 combined with a ten channel mixer . the cool thing is , it apparently returns more outputs than just two ( stereo ) . that would allow me to hook up more monitors and subwoofers without repatching . i hope the nrv10 sounds good .
but i wish it had 100mm faders . why do these idiots keep manufacturing mixers with faders that are 45mm ? it would be so easy to make them with 100mm . faders should be 100mm by law . :thu:
will you please review the m audio nrv10 ?

...from a gigging guitarist's perspective. Right now, there are several all-in-one multi-effects/amp modelers that have been designed for the guitarist who performs live (or just needs foot control for sound/patch switching). Several of them seem to be just below or aboe that magical price point of $399, and each of them have similar features. Some started out as a collection of stomp boxes in a pedal that now include amp modeling (Boss GT-8), some started as amp modelers hat now include a bevy of effects (Pod XT Live & Floor Pod Plus), some have incorporated real tubes into their digital innards (Zoom G9.2tt, Vox ToneLab LE), and some include some extra bonuses like digital multitrack recorders (DigiTech GNX series).
It would be cool to see a direct comparison between these different contenders for the dollars of the gigging guitarist, especially when it comes to things like ease of use at a gig, differences of connecting with amps vs. PAs, quality of onboard effects and modeling, the difference onboard tubes really make, ease of changing patches onstage, and that very subjective topic — TONE.
As the manufacturers continue to offer larger and more complex pedals that rival the Pete Cornish custom pedalboards that only the big stars can afford, I (for one) would really like to see a shootout between them.
My current setup is probably similar to many gigging guitarists: I've got a Fender Strat & Tele (both with Vintage Noiseless pickups), a Fender Strat with Texas Special pickups, a mid-'80s Gibson Les Paul Custom with PAFs, all going into a Zoom GFX-4 into a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe tube amp. Apart from my original songs, my band's repertoire is mostly rock, and on any given night we'll go from the Beatles to Tom Petty to Dire Straits to the Eagles to Bill Idol to the Rolling Stones to Neil Young to Pink Floyd to John Mellencamp to Santana to ZZ Top. Can one of these pedalboards between a guitar and an amp faithfully recreate all the tones needed by today's guitarists?
Seeing as I've already started the article/review with this setup post, I'd be willing to take the next step and perform the shootout as a gigging guitarist with my band. I'm currently in the market for one of these new pedals, and my search/audition process may prove helpful to other axemen and women out there.
If only I had unlimited amounts of cash to do this as a public service... maybe if someone out there (Craig?) had some connections with manufacturers that might be willing to participate and loan a guitarist a few of these pedalboards to audition...
Just a thought.

dear craig
alesis has come up with yet another audio interface . it is a new 8 channel mixer that connectcs all your gear through analogue jacks to a computer via usb 2.0 for recording . then it sends back a 2 channel stereo mix via usb 2 . 0 from the computer back to the mixer . it has 100 effects and can record at least 4 ( or more ) channels simultaneously at 24 / 96 . i think . ( there is also a 16 channel version with sliding faders ) . the multimix 8 usb 2 . 0 has knobs for faders but it is only $ 299 usd . ( this new unit is not to be confused with the older " multimix 8 usb " which used the usb 1 . 1 jack and only recorded 16 / 44 . ) i am thinking that a mixer with eight channels that records at 24 / 96 and includes effects for $ 299 might be a very good home studio toy . what has anybody heard about this new mixer please . i would like to know if it has good buzz . it is hitting stores this week . thanks .

I'm sure that a side-by-side comparison of these delay units would be of interest to quite a few. Given Eventide's pedigree, I'm certainly curious into how well their high-end units are translated into a stompbox format, and to what extent.

Hi Craig.
I have been in contact with TC Helicon about the release (belated release) of their "HarmonyControl Guitar" product which is intended to compete with the Digitech V2 and V4.
I already have a VoiceWorks processor, so I am very interested in how well the HarmonyControl works with it.... and specifically, if it works as well as the Digitech.
Considering the huge interest in your V2/V4 review, do you think it would be possible to do a HarmonyControl review with a comparison between the new product and the Digitech product?
According to the latest information I have been given, the product will be released at the end of Nov or beginning of Dec.

Craig,
I'd love to see an audio interface shootout!
You've already reviewed (two generations of) the TC Konnekt 24D, the Mackie Onyx 400F, and I know you use Emu's fine 1616m on the road with your notebook computer. How about adding RME's Fireface 400 to the mix, and then compare specific aspects, such as the quality of the A/D and D/A stages, the sound of the preamps etc?
I know that the 1616m is a little bit the odd one out because of its PCMCIA interface, and all the others use firewire, but people can always get the PCI version of the 1616m these days.
So, let the shootout begin... :poke:
Personally, I'm kind of "in love" with the 1616m, because it seems to hold its on very well against the competition, yet it is so much less expensive than its contenders. Therefore, if you don't have the time for a full-blown shootout, maybe you could just quickly touch upon a few vital areas and compare those.
In particular, I'd love to hear how the 1616m's mic preamps (which AFAIK are a step up from those in the 1820m) stack up against those in Mackie's 400F and in the FireFace 400.

I don't know if you saw the announcement in the forums, but timeliness of posting user reviews became such a problem with the increased traffic (which we LOVE, don't get me wrong!!) that we now have some dedicated editorial staff for posting reviews...it used to be just one guy, who really put a lot of effort in but was being pulled in other directions as well. They're working through the backlog and we should be caught up fairly soon.
For the record...we consider User Reviews an extremely important part of the site. We run virtually everything we receive--positive, negative, neutral--unless we feel something was posted by a "ringer" who's trying to push his/her company's products.

The M-Audio ProFire 2626 is a perfect candidate for a pro review. This has the potential to be the ultimate mid-range firewire audio interface. Its got 8 built in pre amps, a near zero latency cue mixer capable of producing multiple mixes (which once you've used one such mixer on a device, you can't look back, its an absolute must) and is Pro-Tools M-Powered compatable. Things like JetPLL we've seen before, but are obviously great features.
I realize this hasn't hit shelves yet, but once it does... get on it ;)

May I suggest that Reaper 2.100 be reviewed.
-Edit- 2.100 has been released -Edit-
Reaper is establishing itself as a viable alternative to other DAWs out there, especially but not limited to audio recording. It can be found at http://reaper.fm .

Seeing as you are the pros, I was wondering if you guys could do some investigating. I started having line noise (a constant high pithced whine) in the inputs 3 & 4 and a few days later, a low grumbeling noise in the inputs
1 & 2. This noise was also bleeding into my recordings. To investigate the matter, I proceeded to unplug all my instruments until nothing was pluged into the Firebox. The noise was still there. I opened the software mixing console, and muted (one at a time) the inputs. With each new muting the noise decreased, and once all four inputs were muted, the noise was gone.
This lead me to believe I was having a hardware problem, and I quickly made my way to the PreSonus website for support. I read through the forum to see that other Firebox and FP10 users were having the same problem. I stated my case and awaited a response. In the meantime, I downloaded Presonus's new drivers and firmware upgrade.
I installed the new drivers and firmware, only to find the same sounds eminating from all 4 line ins. I kept posting in the forum to get no response and notice even more Presonus users posting the same problems, yet never finding a response.
Within a few days of installing the new drivers and firmware, my unit went totaly dead. I had paid about 500$ for this unit and it's about 2 years old. I immediately sent out an e-mail to Presonus support. It took a long while to get a response from them, only to be told "Send it in for repair". Meanwhile, I kept searching through the support forum to find more line noise problems, but as well as problems emminating from the driver\firmware update that have rendered their unti inoperable. There are alot of frustrated PreSonus users walking in limbo. If you have a look ot the forum, I am sure you will see what I've come to notice.
To bring a long story to an end, I would just request you look at the PreSonus support forums while making your Reviews of PreSonus products. There are definite patterns to be seen.

Hi !
Was wondering if you reviews have a summary/conclusion post that provides a synopsis of your review of a particular product: i.e. good points/bad points/your ultimate conclusion ??? Several of your product review threads span numerous pages with lots of posts - - sometimes I don't have the time to read through everything to get to your bottom line . . . ??? If you do provide a summary post, how might I easily find it ?
Thanx for you generous insights and hard work !

I'd love to see a review of the eeePC (http://eeepc.asus.com/global/product.htm) focussing on the eee's potential as a DAW machine. After all, the laptop is ultra-portable, supports WinXPSP2,Linux, has 3 USB ports, up to 2 GB RAM and only costs $399 so it would be interesting to know if stuff like Cubase, Live, Reaper etc would work on this PC and if it could be the most portable music production station ever.
Given the fact Asus has sold more than 350000 units of this baby within a few months i would assume there must be quite a number of people out there that would be interested as well in how well or not the eee works as a DAW.

Anyone seen or played a Godin 5th Ave or Kingpin?
http://www.godinguitars.com/godin5thavenuep.htm
I was at the Saragtoga Springs guitar show, the show is actually quite small. I got a chance to play the Godin 5th Avenue. The one I try was black in color, very flat finish, it probably looks better in the natural or the sunburst. You know with a finish like that it's gonna self polish itself and places and up might as well do it youself with a buffer system or you could probably do it by hand too. That's if the finish is thick enough to do so.
The guitar has a lovely neck and felt great in my paws, the tone is very mellow, with limited projection, if you gonna play out with it you will need to mic it or have a pick up installed on it. I could see folks playing blues or acoustic jazz on this one.
Although the room was a bit noisy, the projection was very limited, as most F hole jazz boxes are. Since it's rather mellow in tone, you don't even get as much volume out of this as you would a small folk guitar.
The New Yorker was not available yet and the store that had the 5th Avenue had not seen the New Yorker as of yet. The New Yorker will have a p90 pup and I better it will have pretty much the same projection as the 5th Avenue,
Comes with a gig back, which is ok, but you know how gig bags are, very convienent till you bag it up on a door casing trying to get out of your house or to a gig.
All in all it's pretty cool, not for everyone, sell for about 550 dollars.

I bought a Eee for my company. Here's my review:
Triple E is a toy, too small for your fingers and with only 4 G main drive, it drives you completely mad, there's never enough for anything. Don't underestimate the trouble this will give you! The screen is hopelessly small and the complete-screen scroll to have a 800 by 600 screen on a 800 by 480 display is not something you get used to, and it confuses software as to how to display.
They sell because they're gadgets. Totally amateur. Hopefully HP's 2133 with 9 inch screen and bigger keyboard and (hey hey!) a harddisk will be better.
Hope that this is enough for a review.

1.. Peavey Vypyr 75.
2. Inexpensive compact guitar multi-effects that can be regularly brought to gigs to be used as emergency back-up direct into the PA if a player's primary guitar amp stops working. That is, not looking at such devices for recording, or for enhancing a guitar amp, but as reasonable alternatives to a amp in case of need.

If you have particular suggestions for products you'd like to see subjected to the Pro Review process, please post them here. Note that we cannot respond to every suggestion, but if there's an obvious trend, we'll see what we can do.
Dear Craig:
I hope that you remember me. My name is Greg M. Atkin and I am the President of Strum-N-Comfort Picking Systems (www.strum-n-comfort.com). I am based in southern California. As a side note, I am also the current President of the Association of Fingerstyle Guitarists (www.afg.org).
A few years ago we met at NAMM in Nashville. I think that it was the last Nashville event before they left for other cities for a few years.
At that time you picked up a sample of the new SharkTooth Crossover Pick. That is, the comfortable and flexible Crossover Pick (thumb pick).
You were very interested in the new design and provided a good review in your on-line writing (EQ, I think). You also recommended that your friends at Guitar Player magazine take a look at the new pick design and they followed through with a good notice in the "Out Now" section.
Thanks again for all of the past support.
I am still moving forward with the product line and the SharkTooth Traditional model that you first saw is now in version 3.0. I have added many new players to the list of users of the Crossover Pick product line.
The Crossover Pick is greatly improved for comfort, its no slip features and a clean look. The older design included many little parts that were sewed together. The v3.0 has clean lines with no sewing at all and a rubberized label on the inside only that improves durability and adds non slip function. In addition, I have been able to bring the basic fabrication and assembly of the product back to the USA.
Furthermore, I have developed four production models including a very cool leather strap version called the Kodiak Crossover Pick. You can see 2008 Winfield National Fingerstyle Champion Tim Thompson using the Kodiak in a YouTube video at the following link. Stay with Tim long enough to see the second window open up where he accompanies himself. The video is very entertaining. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LyG-bu_x-Hw
I am happy to send to you an updated set of the Crossover Pick designs just so you know about the effort that I am continuing to make with the product. I value your personal support even if a review is not possible.
Thank you for your time and Happy New Year.

I just got a VOX VT30, which is brand new for this year.
http://www.voxamps.com/us/valvetronix/vt-series/
8 programable chnnels, I had to order the footswith (VFS5) which will give me access to the bank of the green and red channel and the 4 channels in each bank for a total of 8 channels.
The reason why I bought it was I wanted a amp for late night recording and it has this adjustable attenuator on the back dropping the power down to .25 watts
here's some info off the VOX site
*VOX Valve Reactor circuit that uses a 12AX7 to produce real tube power amp sound.
*Twenty-two realistic amp models are built-in, ranging from the latest high-gain types to unobtainable legendary boutique amps and vintage amps.
*Twelve high-quality effects including independent reverb, rivaling the quality of dedicated units
*Three banks (basic, effected, and song) are provided for each amp model, giving you a total of sixty-six preset programs.
*Twenty-two programs of "song presets" simulate the sounds of famous guitarists.
*You can save eight of your own edited programs.
*Power level control allows you to adjust the output wattage of the power amp, meaning that you can obtain that distinctive power amp distortion even at low output levels.
*Headphone output lets you practice at home, even at night.
*The VT50/100 provide an external speaker output, and the VT100 provides an effect loop for expandability.
*By using the VFS5 foot switch you can use your foot to change programs or turn effects on/off.
I will wait a few weeks an do a review of the amp if some one wants me to.
For 260 bucks street price, you sure can't beat it. So far so go. Give me a few more weeks with this one and like I said I can do a total review of this amp. I could email it to Craig Andertons, since the general public and all members do not have access too start new threads here.
So far so good, but we'll see down the road.
I may post a review in the amp review section in time

My suggestion is a simple one:
STOP WRITING EVERYTHING IN THIS FORUM USING *ALL CAPS*!!! IT'S REALLY, REALLY ANNOYING!
ALL OF THE TITLES ON THE MAIN PAGE ARE WRITTEN IN ALL CAPS, AND THIS MAKES THEM HARD TO READ.
Thank you for your cooperation.
Yes.. i agree with you..
How about a review of E-MU Emulator X3?

Many people may have the idea when he has hit level 80 , he has nothing new to do. But I think if you are not a fan of leveling then I'd say this is where the game will really start for you and you can have a lot of fun!
That depend on what you want really. If you want to be the rich you can try your best to get the wow gold (http://www.wowgoldgate.com); if you like the feeling of fight you can be a PvP'er; if you like cooperation, you can be a raider, group with people and go and conquer raid dungeons; if you still enjoy the power leveling you can create a new character and power level again; if you want to be fame of your professional skills (http://www.wowgoldgate.com), you can try your best to make something special. In a word, you can do a lot of things that you are really interested in

I think it'd be cool to do a pro review of the Kurzweil PC3, if one isn't already in progress somewhere in here.

I would love to see a fully featured DAW shootout. Basically, you take all the leading DAW software for both platforms, and put them through everything possible, and then produce a detailed matirix of strengths and weaknesses for each of them. Another great output of the review would be a list of suggested DAW software for particular user types.

I would like to see a review of the Zoom H4 Portable Digital Recorder. Or if anyone has one and give me tips & tricks, it would be greatly appreciated. I just bought one and I am REALLY happy so far but would to diminish the learning curve if at all possible. !!

(this is NOT the USB PODcaster)
Really wanna know how this one would come out comparing to RE20 or SM7B...
It's a cheaper alternative... Good to get some rating on this vs. the famous RE20/SM7B.
Thanks!

Digitech RP1000 please. We know from the other RP review(s) that it should sound great, so I guess you can focus on how it integrates with your amp and stompboxes.

Newest Digitech RPx55 Mfx pedals. Considering the RP155, but the 255 & 355 are new as well. Only drawback is the software isn't ready yet...

I'd like to see a Pro Review of Reaper.
It is potentially one of the most exciting things to happen to recording musicians in quite some time given the licensing policy we all know that there will be a heck of a lot of users.
Some will pay, some won't... but the user base will certainly increase. Not everyone can afford (or even prefer) the Cubase's / Sonar's of the world. It would be an interesting review I think.

Hi,
I wrote a software for audio engineers training. It is a freeware and I really appreciate if you can give me your opinion. You can download from my site www.sim-av.com.
It is OK to promote my freeware in these forums? Thanks

Would love to see a review of the UAD-2 series (solo/duo/quad and laptop) and some of the various plug-ins.
Some comparisons to functionality and audio quality of the UAD-2 and SSL's Duende would be great!

i've been hoping for a "professional" review of some of the cmatmods.com pedals, notably the signa comp (the regular compressor would be nice too), signa drive and brownie

How about a review of the new Zoom R16, Craig?
What interests me most is the DAW controller aspect of the unit.
I have not been able to find out if the recording media, up tp 32BG SD cards, is a compressed format or not. I would hope not. Maybe all SD cards use compression. I simply don't know.

Some / many (?) of us play other than Guitar and Bass.
I do. I play Mandolin, Mando-Cello, Cittern, Bouzouki, Oud, Balalaika, some Banjo. (Also, Horns & Keyboards).
I realize there are not hordes of players here that have the interest ... but, these are valid instruments that are encountered in today's music.
Can we not have something (a Forum) addressing these instruments?
Perhaps, few moderators would be available (I can understand that). Maybe, can do without a moderator (?).

If possible, it would be fantastic to see a quick review of the new Casio digital piano's that were introduced this month in the states: the Privia PX-130, 330, etc.
Thanks!

I'd love to read a comprehensive Pro Review of the new Zoom R16. It is exactly what I've been looking to buy, and is quite affordable.
This may be a great, cheap tool to do a multitrack location, field or live recording. Looks like one limitation is that phantom power is only on 2 channels; plus the A/D converters may not be the best at that price point, but I don't know. Not having read the manual, I wonder if it can play tracks as you record on others.
