Picked up a copy of his album Nothing Serious today. And I've had Habana for a while.
I swear, Roy is the next solo trumpet legend! He carries on and plays something like Diz, Freddie Hubbard, and maybe Miles, but he also adds a lot of his own stuff to the mix. And his live tone is one of my favorites in a long time!
VERY great CD. I like Nothing Serious a bit more than Habana.
I believe there is a Youtube or Google video of him, Jon Faddis, and some other guys. Worth checking out.
I also bought Maurice Andre's Trumpet Concertos album. Beautiful!
