I just got a Hercules 16/12 firewire interface. It has 12 inputs, and I can not figure out how to record the 12 inputs to seperate tracks in Adobe Audition 1.5. I didn't get a manual on it and I've been talking to their support through email, but they are sometimes kind of slow to respond and haven't really answered my questions.

I'm thinking it is a set up problem inside of Audition maybe. When I go into the input tab on a track the only things it list are Hercules 16/12 FW Multichannel, Hercules 16/12 FW Coax., and Hercules 16/12 FW Opti.

I use the Multichannel, but I can only record 2 seperate tracks at a time with that (in mono). And when I go into the Hercules control panal I click on the Direct X tab and it list all of the channels, but will only let me select 2 at a time. I should be able to record all 12 to seperate tracks right????

I'm not familiar with the products, but I would assume the same as you. I would think the problem would be with software. They wouldn't put all those inputs in the hardware if it wasn't capable. Just not legal. Adobe's website no help for that product. couldn't find a manual to download.

My best guess is software set up or maybe a "lite" version that doesn't allow full function unless you upgrade?

Well I have the full Audition 1.5 version. I've used it with my M-Audio Delta 44 and it was fine, I could record all 4 mono sources.

Thank you for the help. I haven't gotten much of it on this topic. It seems the Hercules interface is not very popular.
