Ok, I have an E-Mu 0404 installed in my computer (Dell XPS , 3.2 Gig PentiumD, 2 Gigs ram, 350 Gig HD)
I also have a SBLive that I use as my main output card (5.1 for games and movies)
Is there any way I can record in with ASIO and still be able to output for playback and monitoring though my SB Live?
I can get everything to work using WDM, but my sound is choppy. When I switch to ASIO, I lose the ability to output to my SB.
Also, I'm new to this (obviously) is there anywhere I can get some helping figuring out the Patchmix mixer? I'm having nothing but problems with it.

Or at least check out their web site for info. I know I read somewhere that they first claimed that you could not use one of the latest generation E-MU cards with another Creative card.
However, I think I read in a follow-up that there is a way to do it but I could't tell you how. Might be worth checking it out.

You can't have an E-MU PCI audio interface and a Creative X-Fi in the same system. Except for a few very rare cases, they will never both work correctly.
Providing you don't have any IRQ issues, If you uninstall both and install the E-MU PCI first, you can then often install the Creative SB. You lose more than you gain as most PC's seem to run best and are only able to obtain best possible performance when there is only one audio interface.

go to control panel
make sure your using classic view
go to sounds and audio devices
click the audio tab
make sure the sb live is selected for playback
and the 0404 is selected for recording.
open each asio app and make sure it is set up to use the 0404 and not the sb live. as the sb live doesn't have asio abilities. you need to monitor your asio output through the 0404 and not the sb live. it cannot playback asio on it's own. and frankly there is no point in even having the 0404 if your not gonna use it for in as well as out in asio apps. unless of course you only bought it to get your warezed copy of emulator-x/proteus-x to work and are using it as a cheap dongle.
in which case junk the sb live and get an audigy 2 for around $27. that will have asio out and be a decent enough monitoring source.
