Good Guitar Luthier In NY Needed
Hello everyone . Have been reading HC for years lots of great in fo here.
My problem is that I no longer am able to do my own setups and may no longer be able to play for long. Long story ,Accident at work.
I would like to know who is doing good work in the NY area, Long Island Queens Bklyn and what are the ball park prices for services.
Thanks to all and all responses appreciated

Why would you think this would be the best place to find a luthier?
Try the yellow pages. You'll have better luck......

Be careful on the responses you get too. My experience has shown me that I can set up my own stuff better than many a geek-a-zoid that has claimed to be a luthier.... seriously.
Can you explain to a noob or another player you know what you want to have done and how to do it?

Rob DiStefano has a great rep with all sorts of players. His business is Fret Tech, and although not based in NYC, I think he is in NY State.

Check out Mandolin Brothers in Staten Island. They are world class. You can find them on the web or in the phone book.

If you don't find one close enough to you I can provide you a name with excellent references.
You should be able to connect in NYC though.

i think what was meant was that he wanted a reccommendation from someone who had exprience of a good luthier and could vouch for the quality of their work.... no?
