anyone built a wah or volume pedal?

hi, i'd really like to build a volume pedal (for exp. pedal use) rather than shelling out the big money to buy one... i guess they're so expensive just because they have such a unique casing...

the electronics could not be simpler, but i'm wondering if anyone has built or has an idea of how to put together a rocking pedal like the wah or volume pedals on the market?

The mechanics of the rocker are tricky, so it might be advantageous to just find an old wah or volume pedal and either repair it or modify it to do volume.
