I always liked this drawing so I thought I would repost the mod for those who have not seen it before:

Replace D6 with a jumper as shown in the instructions and replace D5 with a red LED.

This will introduce even more asymmetry into the sound and add a bit of an octave-up content!

any mods for a bit more "clarity" or "transparency"?

which mod for a slight touch of bass? smooth out the highs?

That pic above is great if you want a TS pedal but it doesn't tell you what each specific part swap is accomplishing which is one thing that would make it even better. Anyone who knows feel free to clarify for the sake of the newbie DIYers like myself. :D

I like the SD-1 a whole lot more than the 808 so I'd rather know what parts to tweak for what result.

great thread !

What if I just did one or the other?

Is it the red led that gives the octave up effect, and would I be able to make it so that I could toggle the octave up on and off? I like the stock sound, but I'd like some variation as well.

Dumb question I suppose, but on that SD-808 drawing...

3. Remove C6...Do I just have to get rid of it, or should I replace it with a jumper?

Anyone maybe have clips to demonstrate the difference between a stock sd1 and a modded one?

Cheers.

Remove it & replace it with jumper wire. This was Tweaks mod he posted up a fair while ago, it's my favourite thing to do to SD-1's

Change the C2 cap to 0.1uf, then change the C3 cap to something like 0.68uf - if you want even more bass than change C3 to a 0.1uf also.:)
