i played trombone in highschool and havent since then recently started to play electric bass and i was recently thinking should i sell my trombone to buy a new bass or keep it as a souveir of when i played trombone its a conn trombone that i bought used for $1000 in 2000 i think i can get a pretty good deal selling it locally to

it would take me about 6 months to get back where i can play trombone again but i have no motivation to play it because there are never any gigs for a trombone player

Around here, between funk and ska bands it's really easy to find a spot as a trombone player.

here i would have to start a jazz band or join the orchestra or marching band in which i am not good enough to join the orchestra or a local marching band

My best friend is a very capable trombonist and he's constantly got stuff lined up when he wants to play.

You should pick it back up, it's not costing you anything keeping it anyway, so make use of it. Post some ads on the bulletin boards in the music stores in your area. You'll find jobs in no time.
