Some of the cool looking band lighting I've found on the web......all small-club bands.....inexpensive fixtures.

I've since replaced the side washes (not pictured but thats what is lighting the stage) with Octopod 80s (LEDs). A huge improvement.

Rockey can you give us a list of your full rig?
Do you have a website?
It looks pretty impressive.

Sure, I use 2 T-stands in the front of the stage and a DuraTruss for the backstage.
T-stands:
Octopod 80's (4 per side)
Duratruss:
4 pocketscans (centered on the front)
2 DJ Spots (ends)
1 TracPod 30 (center facing down to light the drummer)
Other stuff:
ADJ Hazer (great investment! no warmup time and only 300watt pull, but no DMX, long remote though).
ShowDesigner 2D (The best piece of gear I own!)
Martin Ego (I think its the 3)
various lasers from China for private parties
Stuff Im going to sell (outgrew/no room/etc)
2 Chauvet Omegas (150watt)
2 Chauvet Color changers (150watt)
10' truss w/ stands
ADJ Operator Pro
When its all hooked up I only draw about 10 amps so we shouldn't blow any fuses. The LEDs combined w/ the lightboard (showdesigner 2D) make the setup. I can custom design a show per song like a real concert. If the bands only stuck to their setlist....

Nice setup. Do you work with a single band - or rent out like a sound company? What do you charge for the service?

How long does it take you to set up and tear down all that stuff?
I got a very basic dmx set up with just 4 color changers and I'm far too lazy to use it at every gig. It adds so much work and time to our setup.

I have to be there first to setup (since the drummer cant start until I crankup the truss). It takes about 15-20 minutes to unpack mount everything on the truss. The fixtures cannot be stored w/ the mounting hardware on them, so thats why it takes any time at all really. All of my cables are labeled by channel (power, dmx in/out) and my fixtures have positon and dmx channel on it (along w/ the dip switch position if thats needed). just match them up, mount them and crank it up. Then the main lights are stored on the T-Bar in a ski bag made for 2 pair of skis. Sometimes I move one light to have 2 in one position (one above the other) to get more light infront of the stage to cut down on shadows. that takes about 20 minutes to get the DMX cables/power/etc set up. So about 45 minutes then aiming the lights up front for a few minutes. Not too bad. Breakdown sucks because I have to wait until the drumkit is removed first. So first in/last out.
I do lights for about 3-4 different bands but Im taking a break at the moment to actually try playing for once. I have a Chapman Stick thats been sitting around for 2 years and needs to be used. A friend has a sweet piano bar gig. They love him becuase he will go from Styx to Journey to Fall Out Boy to side 2 of Dark Side of the Moon. He plays anything and everything.

Pretty damn impressive....:thu:
In the pics above for the band Mad Hoss Jackson, what are the white spotlights coming in the from the sides of the stage? They look like rainlights but the beams are so defined it has to be >50 watts?

You probably meant to say 'Raylights'??
