As far as reposts go, they're kinda like a few of those Whole Lotta Rosies pics you just put up, eh? ;)
Yikes. I know I'd seen some WLR pics but I tried to avoid any ones I could remember.

Not this thread specifically, but she does share my dark secret of being a raging and unrepentant heterosexual.
Obviously, although I do have a small photobucket file of these kinds of pics, most of these have been linked from where they appear elsewhere on the web rather than anything of mine. And for quite awhile now a lot of the pics have been linked here by others. For which I'm truly grateful.

These girls ROCK!
I saw them in London at Ladyfest 2003. Great show - good solid punk rock guitar band with superb vocal harmonies.

Oddly there haven't been many posted here of Kim Gordon of Sonic Youth.
I believe that's a solidbody Ovation bass she's playing here:

With a Les Paul Special the band dubbed "Mustard" (in order to differentiate between their hordes of guitars, many of the same model, SY names them):

That neck pup looks like that funky Gibby soapbar that has little bars for every other pole-piece instead of the usual all screw-heads on a regular P-90. I can never remember what those'r called.

I think I may have been there if that's what it is. I went to see Soul Coughing a few years back at the Stone Pony. We stopped to get some food and have some beers at this bowling alley in AP.
The reason I remember it was, they were having a lesbian get together at the bowling alley and me and my 3 friends were the only guys in the place.

That first pic looked like she was fingering a D chord. Whether she actually performs with a guitar is a different story (depending on her "performance" it could be worth starting a new thread over...in a board that would allow that sort of thing, of course :D ).

I noticed the possible D-chord too, believe it or not. But the fact that the photo was on an Italian guitar site, that the file name is the name of the guitar and not the woman/women, and the fact that they're both wearing bikinis and f*ck me pumps leads me to the conclusion that they very well may in fact be models.

Of course! Since the pic was on your band webpage, I hope you didn't mind that I linked it up here. Like I said at the outset of this thread, I have great respect for women musicians in our male-dominated culture and the music "business," which is oftentimes much worse.
This thread is my (and indeed, now the whole forum's) salute to y'all!
Grrl power!

Probably not correct Spanish (mine never is), but I trust you take my meaning.
Over the last weekend she had a sleepover birthday party (her actual birthday was last Tuesday), and as each guest arrived, she announced, "I have to show you the most AWESOME present ever!" and then repeatedly took the ever-growing gaggle of girls out to the Casa Krashpad garage to see that junky little kit in it's spot next to the Wall O' Sound.
Did me proud, I tell ye.

You mean where you live, or the forum?
For the latter, a lot of it is I think women might feel unwelcome here because of all the testosterone and a general lockeroom climate not very respectful of women.
Which is one of the reasons I started this thread.

Where I live. Our sax player/singer is one of the few female musicians I know. Only 17, but supertalented.
Maybe testosteron is the reason why women don't get in here (forum), maybe talking about gear is mostly a male thing? cf cars, ...
I like talking to women about gear. It's one of the things they don't get jealous about. (Not meant negative, just my experience)

It isn't the testosterone. Generally women aren't taken seriously as guitarists. Possibly because several of the women who's pictures have been posted in here forgot most of their clothes.
I'm little more than a humble chord strummer, but I do know how to dress myself.
Check out Joanna Connor ... she's incredible on the guitar, on rhythm, lead, and slide.
Want to know what really bugs me? The unspoken (or spoken) second half of the sentence:
"Wow, she plays really good!" (for a girl)

Not for me. Most of these girls/women can probably (definately) play better than me.
And about the clothes. It's hot under stage lights. I'm practically naked to when gigging. It's not all like Nashville Pussy or alike. But that's a schtic (or what's it's called) on its self.
Anyway. Back on topic.:)

LOVE those dice-knobs on the LP! I've wanted to do that with a guitar ever since I saw Brian Setzer's signature gretsch with em on. I picked up some dice in Vegas I intend to have turned into knobs when i can afford to custom order a Gordon Smith GS 1.60 with p90 (basically an LP Junior) in TV yellow.... One will be the '1' spot, which also says "Eddie's Casino" on it, the other the 6 spot, which also says "Las Vegas". :D

It's the way Edward linked them.
He needed to right-click on "copy image URL," or "view image" and then copy what appeared in the address box in his browser. Those files need to end in "jpg" to be hotlinked.

No, that's one the reasons I use Netscape, the mouse options are far superior for this sort of thing. I'll check on IE and see if there's a way to do it with that'un.

This pic is cool too... I'm waiting for the day a band calls themselves "Tits of Clay" after a memorable line in "Angry Inch" from Hedwig.
Brassic's Mustang (Competition Mustang?) sure looks cool - never seen one with a third pup added before, interesting mod!
Nice detail matching the nail varnish to the guitar as well! ;)

No mod there. That's one of Fender's lesser-known models, the Cyclone II:

Ah, right. I wondered. Can't say I'm too up on a lot of the Fender catalogue - TBH, given how few models the big boys pump out as lefties, I've gotten a bit lazy with keeping up with them.
It's a very cool idea, though, basically a three pup Mustang type... and that switch allows for easy all 3 / bridge and neck combos.
That photo does make me wonder, though...... if photos of ladies *without* guitars is against the rules on this thread, where does that leave photos of guitars without *ladies*? :D

I think it's fair to say that Texas (at least when i last heard anything from them three or four years ago) were fairly mainstream / chart-oriented pop rock, though I'm struggling to think of anyone I'd directly compare them to. They're not really my bag, though I can certainly appreciate them as musicians. The lead player guy is a very talented slide guitarist. Sharleen herself has a great voice and IMO is a great rhythm player on the songs she played on (IIRC there were some numbers she ditched the guitar for?)- something that's all too commonly underrated.
Her choice of a black Telecaster was due entirely to a concious choice to play the same guitar as Joe Strummer (RIP).

Her choice of a black Telecaster was due entirely to a concious choice to play the same guitar as Joe Strummer (RIP). This is fair. At their peak a couple years ago you could call it sophisticated pop with some heavy 60's pop influences. Case in point - the video for their tune "Inner Smile" is a faithful recreation of the '68 Comeback Special, with Sharleen dressed as Elvis :)
To me, Sharleen = sex
:( :( - when I try to get a screen capture from that video, I just get a black square. Sorry guys :(

I don't think I've heard of Texas. But that Sharleen is very sexy.

It's an amazingly good lookey-likey, girl or no!
The guitar is spot on too - I've seen (and touched, though sadly not played!) the Elvis original. It used to be in the Hard Rock Cafe London's "Vault" - now in Florida, IIRC.

I dunno where BK's diggin' em up, but it looksl ike there's a whole lot more ladies on the forums that we realised.... I was only aware of Guitargasm and Wendy before (though they both seem to have disappeared of late?).
Which one of those ladies is Scarlet Cris? If it's not too objectifying, I think the lady with the LP is particularly pretty. :)

I believe you've just paid Cris a complement then, if I've got their membership right.
Btw, the place I've been digging up these new femmes de rock is the new(ish) "Backstage" H-C forum. I believe that forum originated on some other website and then was brought over to H-C. Some neat folks came over with it. The full name of the forum is "Backstage with the Band," and it is dedicated to issues dealing with being in a band, so it has singers, bassists, drummmers, keyboardists, the whole lot, not just guitarists. To get there, just lop the 27 off the end of the URL for Guitar Jam and replace it with a 54.
Cheers,
BK

It's almost like a female version of Cliff Burton...
except for Cliff's looks.
I'd hit that.

Cool, i must check that out. I'm not actually a live performer nowadays (well.... apart from the Rocky Horror stuff, but that's not playing any of my instruments...). I'm trying to work out a project though that will get me out there, and so that would be interesting..... I used to hang out in OJ, GJ & Electric Guitars with the odd foray into amps, but since the forums were revamped, I'm predominantly on the GJ & EG forums just now.

Yeah, Guitar Jam and 'Lectrics are my usual haunts. The "Backstage" one is quite a bit slower-paced. I like the input from non-guitarists there.

She's originally from Jacksonville, FL, but has been up in NYC for some time. A prior band of mine played a show with her first band, Crowsdell, years ago here in Gainesville. She really liked the flyers I had made for the show and insisted I give her some spare copies, and then very magnanimously gave me a Crowsdell single in return. I still have that record!
