They were good at what they did, which was power pop, but they were playing to the wrong crowd. The other bands on the bill were us, another local Van/View hardcore band, and Himsa before Pettibone reformed the band with new members. They didn't get a good reception at all.

Well, it could be Lox. Lox certainly does smell. Especially when it's not refrigerated. Then again, it could be Lou. I've never known anyone named Lou, so I can't speculate. As a last offering, it might be Log. I've had quite a few of those that smelled.

I never talk to touring bands unless I'm on the bill with them cause I end up feeling like such a doofus.

yes, but there are some exceptions...nancy wilson, lita ford, brody armstrong and allison robertson all have a nice set of hooters. :eek:

The "girl in band" schtick (which is still, unfortunately, a schtick) has finally hit mainstream music, but rarely with girls as hardcore musicians. That's the dream. Girl-lead guitarist.

I started this thread to show my admiration for and to encourage women like you.

In a couple weeks my daughter will turn 12 years old. She already knows some guitar cheater chords that she plays on ukelele (smaller reach for little hands and nylon strings don't require callouses). However she's even more interested in drums. On her birthday she will get a full (albeit minimalistic) drum kit I scrounged up on the local used market, and to which a couple buddies of mine actually GAVE (for free!) me some additional hardware, cymbals, etc.

Everyone, pray for me. ;)

Yep, that's Cindy, what a great player. She was working with Asleep at the Wheel, Leon Redbone, played on a Dylan album and much more.
